Gotty101
Hi I have finally started to try and start my Zetec 2.0 turbo. I just want to get it able to start before i hand it over to a tuner to properly map it. Its cranking over and it say its picking trigger 1 up, trigger 2s wave does not look right even though they are both wired the same and both reluctor type. The Zetec cam only has 1 lobe for the sensor so maybe thats not helping at low speeds? The injectors are Siemens Deka 60lb injectors Could anyone give me a clue to anything not right that would stop it starting please? Gotty101
Hi all i gave it another go today. If i do an ignition test i can see the plug firing, also if i do an ignition test with the plug installed the timing light flashes fine. But if i try and crank the engine the timing light never fires. Im not sure if it added every parameter to the previous log so ive made sure on this one. Adamw
Trigger mode should be set to multitooth/missing for a missing tooth wheel, you currently have it set to multitooth. And there is something wrong with you MAP sensor or wiring, it shows a very odd trend, it looks correct initially around 100kpa, then drops down to about 70 and spikes up to 150kpa a couple of times? The fuel pressure has odd spikes about the same time. Do you remember if you moved the TPS at all? TPS shows zero the whole time but im wondering if there is some crossed wires somewhere and TPS is affecting MAP and fuel press maybe? Gotty101
Hi Adam, thank you so much for your help. I look at the log and saw the two spikes you where talking about. I removed the map pipe and connected a syringe to it and logged the data as i used the syringe to create slight pressure and vacuum. The log showed all was good. So i reconnected the line and updated the Trigger to multitooth/missing and tried to crank again. Unfortunately the battery got too low though as pclink disconnected and the log shows the voltage dropped to 7v but there was a bang out of the exhaust so i now must have spark. Also there was no spike in this log or the one after like the map did in the previous one. The top image is holding the throttle open a little and the bottom is leaving it closed. My next plan is to disable the the fuel pump now and check the base timing now with a timing light in the next few days. Thanks again
Gotty101
Hi Adam, Had chance to work on the car again today and it started and ran \o/ . Checked the base timing and then did a check you told someone to do where you do individual ignition to find if its 360 out or not. We did have to hold the throttle open a little hence it fluctuating in the log. The oil pressure sensor is reporting a bit low (it needs the right calibration table sorting) but i know what this is and will sort it this week. One thing i did spot was the cam signal appeared low in the positive but strong in the negative. The ecu seemed to be happy with it though. Other than that is there anything i should check before i send it off to get mapped. Thanks again for your help TriggerScopeLog running 27-05-2024 11-15.llgxPC Datalog Running- 2024-05-27 11;14;11 am.llgx
