matthew smith1436215442
I have a small problem with the fuel pump as soon as i turn on the ignition the pump starts running and does'nt shut off after 3 sec even when i turn the aux that it's wired to off it still runs so far iv'e filled the sump with 98. The aux 4 runs to the circuit open relay there is no single fuel relay any ideas.
matthew smith1436215442
Don't know if this is important but the pump didn't start running continuosly till the end of the set up. when i was setting the triggers i think. The ignition was on for around 3 hours with no problems should i go back to factory settings and start again ?
lemmy01
To run the pump without it's own relay is a bad idea.
Jurgen Biggelaar
Hi Matt. Yes that will definately be it... Good work. PS. OEM runs the pump through a relay, and if you have changed that to run it directly, expect your unit to come in for a repair soon when you pop the fuel pump AUX drive. My advice, run it through a relay ASAP if it is not already. Jurgen
Felix Kreysig
And while you are at it, give the fuelpump a new wiring.. the stock wiring is terribly undersized and further limiting the fuel pumps high load capabilities.
Felix Kreysig
I'd suggest 14 gauge. Better to large than to small and quite the perfect size should you upgrade you fuel pump in future (especially the Supra fuel pump draws lot of current...) Just get a High Current relay and trigger it via the original fuel pump wires.
Jurgen Biggelaar
Hi Matt. This is not something I was aware of, but it does come across as sound info what Felix is saying ^^. Jurgen
