Shamil Arachi
Hi guysHave a wierd problem, i went to start the car and it cranks, splutters and dies (feels like 2/3 cylidners fire). It was fine 30 mins prior to this, i had a power steering leak and washed the engine bay. So i thought ok must have gotten water in somewhere. I pretty much have opened cleaned with contact cleaner the entire fuse box and any plugs etc i could find. Same thing. So i plugged in my laptop and found a trig 1 error count, while cranking it would climb to 3 and then stop, this wouldnt show in the logs but would show in the run time menu for some reason. Now everything is wired through an adapter for the original loom except a few things like air temp (not oem), map sensor (not oem), both triggers (link loom all the way to the oem plug) and water temp. The trig 1 to crank (36-2) was already wired all the way so i rewired the trig 2 (cam) from the oem adapter i had directly to the plug. This seems to have sorted out the I have tested each coil and each injector through the pc link and all seems fine. I have attached a log file to see if there is anything anyone can pickup (this is the one from a couple of days as todays logs dont seem to have saved properly.)I have missed an event this weekend because of this but would be really awesome to get the car up and running for xmas Car is a 2JZ supra with VVTIAny ideas on how i can attemp to diagnose this issue ? Besides the trigger, temp sensors, what other inputs are required for the engine to startup ? thanksShamil Log 11-12-15 5;08;43 pmNOSTART.llg
Scott
Hi Shamil,I've had a quick glance at your log, it looks like the engine is not drawing any manifold vacuum on cranking. This would indicate some serious engine problems, or more likely, a faulty MAP sensor. Was the MAP sensor in a an area where it may have received some water? Turned out my plugs had been fouled, which i feel is from the ect shorting out and flooding the motor. Changed plugs and it started first pop.I will still check out the map sensor though, but im getting a reading from the map sensor when it starts so thats wierd that nothing is showing while cranking.
