  1. When traction control is available, you will need a minimum of two vehicle speed inputs. One speed input must be from a non driven wheel, the other from a driven.

You will be able to have four wheel speed inputs also. This is the ultimate setup as differences in the non driven wheel speeds in corners will be averaged.

  2. The start signal is not critical. It can help with how quick the engine starts. There are other options for start enrichment like the key on feature.

A 100% Vista compatible version of the software is about to be released.

There is known bug in the injector selection type, that will cause the software to go offline. This has been fixed and will be in the next version.

Send me the map you are going to use and I will check your settings. [email protected]

  3. Chris,

Sorry for the delay answering, I had to get one of the Vipec engineers to give their insight as to what could cause this.

This is what we believe is happening. The V88 is not being powered though pin A5, and is getting power from backfeed on one or more of the outputs. When the cam control solenoids operate the backfeed from the solenoids has nowhere to go so you get a high internal voltage.

  4. At the moment the CAN bus port on the ECU is just a serial port. You will need to keep the stock ECU in the car so the dash will work.

To support the Ford CAN bus data stream protocol would require some one giving us the information. This is extremely unlikely.

  5. All I have to do now is find the reason why ignition output #1 refuses to turn on

Take ignition output 1 wire (pin A13) from the connector and touch it to ground. You should get a spark. If not, then there is some issue with the wiring or coils.

If you do get a spark, then use the ignition test feature to see if you get spark. If you do, then you have some ignition setup setting that is not correct.

  6. Marcel,

The AIM adaptor you have constantly requests data from the V88. This is part of the problem. The new version does not do this and the AIM dash has to request the data as it requires it. This adds one more wire to the AIM dash. I will be sending a new cable with the adaptor.

You do not select in the software that the V88 output the data all the time. This feature can be used where you have a dash or logger that cannot request the data.

  7. Ok , but I have already used one of my other free outputs to do what I wanted and it works perfectly ,......... dont get me wrong , it will be great to get it fixed so I would be able to use it if I have to

Marcel, It works perfectly now. I have tested the settings above and they work. There is nothing to fix other then labels in the software.

Right now though , I have bigger fish to fry My ECU still refuses to turn on

Give the V88 to Wayne and let him plug it into another car and test it.

  8. Marcel,

The labels for condition 1 and 2 are around the wrong way. This is confusing and will be fixed.

As you have condition 1 selected as RPM > Value 1, you need to add an engine RPM. I added 4000 and it all works as it should. See screen shot of the settings.

  9. After a bit of Google searching...

There are two wires connected to the ECU and the Alternator. They are FR and G signals.

FR: Is the alternator load signal to the ECU, so it can automatically correct idle speed based on the load.

G: Is a signal from the ECU to the Alternator to control its power output. With this wired grounded the alternator charge will be reduced. If you do nothing with it, the alternator will work as normal.

Based on this information you do not have to do anything with these and the alternator will do its job.
