  1. Hi, the issue turned out to be a bad map sensor (it was a cheaper GM 3bar sensor), so i replaced it with a proper Link 3bar sensor, recalibrated it and it's been fine since. The weird log files turned out to be the files getting corrupted when downloading them to my laptop ... so i changed the download speed settings to a slower setting which fixed that issue
  2. Hi, Thanks for the info, I'll take a look at the accel enrichment settings and the fuel map. Regarding the VTC, it's set similar to the base map. Mine is 'RPM>1200 and RPM<4400 and MAP>65kPa' .... (Base map is >1200 <5400 >65kPa) ... should i change it to a higher kPa? and maybe a longer 'Off delay'?
  3. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d3jjbdxo5q7f6v0/RB25DET_log.llgx?dl=0 The log file is on my dropbox on the link above
  4. I couldn't find a way to truncate or trim the log file so I've tried to compress it, but can't get the file below 3.8MB, so I'm going to have to do another run and create a smaller log filer
  5. Here's the map. The log file is too big, i will see if i can truncate it RB25DET.pclx
  6. Hi, Just running through some logs and I'm seeing something a bit weird. On light throttle, the AFR immediately runs lean, and then when I lift off, it goes rich (see graph below)....seems to do the opposite of what I would expect? [G4X on RB25DET with Link CanLambda, Bosch 1000 injectors] running CLL where AFR line is straight Any thoughts? if you need more info just shout.
  7. Thank you for explaining this one ... it makes sense now I'll set this up tomorrow
  8. Hi, I've seen a couple of threads on a similar topic but I'm having problems translating this onto my build. My current set up is Engine Fan 1: Output - Injector 8, Temp - 95C, Hysteresis - 2C, Fan ON with AC I find that if I'm in traffic idling, my IAT starts to climb pretty high, so I would like the additional option to trigger the fan to come on when IAT is greater than say 35C ( IAT: Source - ANVolt 1 ) I have been playing with just assigning GP Output 2 to Injector 8, and then setting conditions for ECT, IAT and AC Request, there's no hysteresis except a time delay, but would this work? I've seen a couple of similar examples using Virtual Aux outputs, but i can't get my head around the logic any help would be much appreciated, thanks
  9. They are indeed the same log file. The progress bar doesn't always go all the way across before the save dialog box comes up. But, the ECU stays online to the laptop throughout, so I'm not sure if i need to changes the baud rate settings? currently set to 38400 / auto
  10. Hi, I think you're correct. The original logs are overwritten now but I've downloaded a newer log file 3 times in a row and they are all different. Downloaded with Key on / Engine off ECU Log 2022-11-3 11;02;46 am.llgx ECU Log 2022-11-3 11;03;09 am.llgx ECU Log 2022-11-3 11;03;56 am.llgx
  11. Hi, I have attached a few of the log files showing weird looking scales, and also strange values .... I did another run yesterday and it captured 1 way only of a 2 way journey, but showed none of the errors seen in the attached logs. I will try more logging on the ECU as well as PC logging tomorrow and see how they compare. ECU Log 2022-10-28 3;06;24 pm.llgx ECU Log 2022-10-28 3;12;10 pm.llgx ECU Log 2022-10-28 3;12;19 pm.llgx ECU Log 2022-10-28 3;14;43 pm.llgx
  12. Hi Adam, I've been doing a bit of ECU logging and I captured some really odd stuff. Firstly the ECU logs keep spawning new log files at random ... all various sizes. Secondly, it's logging some really strange values ... I'm losing voltage across multiple sensors at different times, and values are going off the scales at random. I have attached 6 screenshot examples from multiple logs from the same journey ... not sure what's going on here
  13. Great stuff .. thanks for the quick reply. I can confirm the error low voltage was/is set to 0.05V. I will set up ECU logging as suggested today and see if it happens again, and will also have a play around with the wires/connections etc and see if i can create any changes in MAP readings. Thanks for your help with this; I will report back on what i find
  14. Hi all, I have just had a CEL and error code 57 : MAP signal error & code 17 : AN Volt 3 below error low value. Running an RB25DET, Link G4X ECU and generic GM 3bar map sensor connected to AN Volt 3, (MAF deleted) - and I'm trying to troubleshoot the issue? Before the CEL i was getting faulty MAP sensor type symptoms : occasional missing on idle, smells rich on idle, back-firing on decel etc When the CEL appeared, i got hesitation and power loss which then cleared and i was able to drive ok Troubleshooting - I have tested that I'm getting 5v to the sensor, that the earth is good, and looking on the Link ECU runtime values for AN Volt 3 I'm getting about 1.5v with key 'ON', and 0.6V at idle ... so it appears that the MAP sensor is functioning from a voltage perspective? I also checked the vacuum/boost pipe to the plenum and it is clear. Should I clear the error codes and see if i can recreate the issue? just get a new MAP sensor? or are there additional tests i can do on PC Link to find the issue?

    VCT and cam timing logging

Hi Adam, thanks for this ... makes sense if i don't have a cam angle sensor on the inlet cam then i can't log it When i set VCT to on at idle, it makes the idle go rough as hell, so it's definitely doing something ... I was just curious to see how much advance I'm actually getting
  16. Hi, I'm trying to check if my VCT is working properly without access to a dyno. RB25DET NEO / standard cams / LinkG4X The VCT solenoid is working (clicks on and off when testing) and it has been set to come on at 1500 and off at 4700rpm but i can't really feel the difference when driving with it on or off ... so I'm after some help with how to set up logging to record intake cam position/cam timing so i can do a couple of logs, 1: with VCT enabled and 2: with it disabled do see if I'm getting the claimed 20' advance when it is engaged. many thanks
  17. Apologies for noob like question, but i'm getting myself confused here. I'm about to update the firmware to 6.20 and i want to be clear about the procedure for resetting base timing if needed .... currently the car was set up up with the timing locked to 10'BTDC when calibrating. However, I want to check the base timing first (with no ECU corrections) and make sure it is set to 15' BTDC (which is correct for this RB25DET engine) then recalibrate the ECU/trigger after the firmware upgrade. So my question is, do I need to set base timing with the CAS to 15' without starting the car first? before i do the base timing calibration in the ECU? or does the 'set base timing' function in the ECU do all this anyway? many thanks
  18. That's great, thanks for confirming
  19. Hi, I have a bit of a noob question regarding setting up a speed source on an R34GTT. (Rear wheel drive/Speed sensor from gearbox --> speedo --> ECU) I have followed the help guide on speed sources and I'm trying to achieve example 4 (Rear wheel drive vehicle with one vehicle speed into from the transmission or dashboard via a Digital Input) , and i'm looking for confirmation on the additional settings. I've set up DI4 and assigned it to GP Speed 1 I'm after confirmation that the Pull up resister setting is correct, and Active Edge setting is 'Rising'? I just don't want to fry anything before trying to calibrate. many thanks
  20. Hi, I'm having a few issues with lazy boost and I've been looking at some logs as i thought the VCT may be an issue? What I am seeing (if I'm interpreting it correctly) is there are times when the ignition angle seems to stay the same / similar whether the VCT solenoid is active or not ... and I'm tryng to work out whether this is due to high timing values that have been set in the timing table or if the VCT is faulty. The values set in the timing table seem quite a bit higher (up to 14 degrees) than the stock R34GTT base maps under boost/rpm ... and i wonder if this was mapped this way to compensate for a faulty VCT response? (white figures = current tune, yellow = R34GTT base map) ... it just looks a bit high to me any help / advice / pointers to check most welcome.

    Traction Control on R34GTT

Hmm, ok thanks ... so the G4X can't use the existing wheel speed sensors that are in place for the ABS?
  22. Hi, I am new to Link ECUs and have a G4X ECU in my R34GTT Skyline. I am trying to work out how to configure Traction Control with or without Slip? The TCS and Slip lights are lit up all the time, so I'm keen to get this configured. Can I just configure this under the 'motorsport' section (as the car has TCS and Slip management in stock configuration), or do I have to set up the individual wheel speed sources? Any suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks.
