  1. Hi Jason. Best bet is going to be to bite the bulit and upgrade to the LEMG3 and Adapta.

However if you get the ECU with the upgraded and standard chip back to us (Link NZ) we can take a look on the bench and see if we can find any thing.

  2. Hi Matt

On the V4 you will only have Crank Enrich and Cold Start to play with. If once the motor catches it runs fine then it is going to be a case of having a play with the Crank Enrich number.  All you can really do is try increasing or decreasing the number and seeing what works best.

  3. Seems the engine is a bit more exotic than a toyota V8.

Best bet for the coils would be to contact NZEFi here in Christchurch 03 377 5447

If you only have a crank sensor then a wasted spark option might be the go using say EVO/VR4 coils.

  4. It is a V1 ECU (early with no PC tuning).

If the crank set up you have has 3 teeth one for each TDC and a reluctor sensor this ecu will do the trick without any changes.

Otherwise a sub-board swap will allow the use of the optical setup. Cost of this is $87 + gst

  5. Hi James

I assume you have a 1UZFE with the twin dizzy currently. For this, one suppressor should be fine as long as both coils are supplied off the same +12V feed. If you really want to do the 8 coil set up you will need the 8 coils and igniters to suit (8 channels) If you go for LS1 coils these have an igniter built in, so that would save on wiring and igniters. The current cam and crank sensors will support 8 coils. Before going to the effort though the gains would be next to nothing in terms of performance.

  6. If you can read the text that is on the sticker on the main micro that will tell us alot.

The ECU is currently set for a reluctor pick up. The L28 dissy might match this or it could have an optical type which would then require a sub-board change.

Worst case you are looking at an upgrade to V5 spec at $330 + gst

  7. The crank enrichment is removed on a per TDC basis. If you have your
crank decay set to 20 it will take 20TDC events to remove one unit of
enrichment. a value of 30 would take 30TDC events for one unit.

The actual time taken is also affected by your master value.  The bigger the
master value the greater the effect crank enrichment has.

As such I can not define this to a given time.

Cold start is effective once the engine has burst. The number is just a number the bigger it is them more fuel you will get.

This is part of the issue with the older systems the numbers are not spicificly defined. This has been addressed in the new G2-G3 platforms.

  8. Ok would leave row steps as is.

  9. PCL file looks ok. Of note is that you are running on TPS  row steps. Is there a reason for this?

  10. Prime fuel is a fixed amount of fuel (20mS) injected at the point the key is turned on if the temperature is below the set value.

If you cycle the key many times you will get multiple lots of prime fuel injected.

Crank Decay is effective on the crank enrichment. It controls how quickly the crank enrichment is removed.
The crank decay/enrichment starts being removed from the moment the engine starts cranking.
