  1. Thank you Dave. I first built a 1uz Lexus V8 for her, all the right stuff internals and then lost interest in it.

I then pulled the RB26 from the Stagea and stuck it in here. The Stag is running Apexi with the new upgraded motor.

This one made 650 Whp but is un drivable with that power in the S14. Except for some scary top end runs..

Still playing with ViPEC here but thus far she is not too bad....except for fuel consumption.

Ill still get to that though, may send an e-mail off to that supercherged88 bloke shortly for some advice.. ;);) 8-) 8-)

    A few more pics ..

Some proper braking and suspension as well

The best part of this all is that she really holds her own against some top machinery out there.

This was at Kyalami Raceway earlier this year..

  2. If I may piggy back here guys.

I had a 24 tooth wheel made for the crank and a single reset hall trigger on my RB25 exh cam.

I did the 24 tooth as it was recommended elsewhere on this forum.

24 teeth are equidistant around the wheel.

It never was totally successful and I then went back to the std Nissan cas.

My crank wheel does NOT have a missing tooth. Could this be why the setup was not quite that successful ?

The symptoms were bad starting, poor cyl firing and misfiring at anything over 3 to 4 k revs.

On the std cas it is perfect.

  3. This is for the first timers and beginners . All you experienced blokes will probably be rolling in the isles.

Doing the firmware update yesterday the fault message came back as unsuccessful, try again. Tried again and again it was unsuccessful. Then tried starting the engine but zero.

That`s when I posted this cry for help.

This morning I loaded the software onto an old XP laptop and tried connecting again. Viola !! Immediately a message saying the ecu is in boot mode and will not run the engine and to reload the firmware is displayed .

I did not know that the ecu goes into boot mode !! Neither did my fancy Win 8 laptop display the message ! My old XP laptop did though.

Now I knew what to do , did it and the whole world is green again.

Now here`s a bit of useful info for the next noob cutting his teeth on ViPEC.

  4. after trying to update the firmware. I connected , looked at the ver. as per Dave Kriedeman ,(Thanks so much for the help Dave !) and needed to load latest firmware.

Followed the procedure diligently when It came up with some message failure and I tried again.

Bam ! No communication. I fitted the second unit and it communicated instantly.

Do I stab myself or is there hope ??

    Thanks all.

  5. Simon, you mention that TC is in your opinion, not a priority because, and I think I understand your reply above fully , there are more urgent priorities from dealers/ installers ?

I find your statement rather surprising as I have only seen a 5 page TC topic from persons asking for TC to be incorporated.

Have I missed or not seen other 1.2.3.4.or 5 page topics requesting other features besides TC ?

Come on guys, I know I bought mine due to the fact that it is probably the top dog management system out there.

TC would be most appreciated. Really ! Seriously !!
