  1. Hi Eric, I am going to make some assumptions here, that your engine is a 4 cylinder engine and that you want to run sequential injection. Here are the first things I would check on your basemap: 1) Look at the configuration window under ECU settings, Do you have the number of cylinders set to 4? 2) Look at the Fuel main window under ECU settings > Fuel > Fuel Setup. Is the injection mode set to sequential? The number of injectors showing under 'auxiliary outputs fuel' is determined by these two settings. If you have checked these settings and they are ok you can reply with your basemap attached and I will have a look for you. also if you could let me know what type of engine you are running. Regards, Scott.
  2. Hi Shaun, Unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice for you on appropriate sizing of LPG injectors. I thnk the best guys to talk to on advice for this would be http://www.prinsautogas.com I know we have used their components before. I made a mistake when I told you our G4 ECUs would be capable of running an LPG injector sorry. In our sister brand of ECUs we have the Vi-PEC V88, this ECU would be capable of running the LPG injectors. Cheers, Scott.
  3. Hi Eric, Yes, the PCLink installs fine on windows 7. I think your problem is that you trying to install a very early version of PCLink. Our PCLink download page is a bit messed up at the moment sorry. Here is a link for the latest PCLink: http://www.linkecu.com/support/downloads/pclink-download/pclink-g4-v4.9.1.1165 Regards, Scott.
  4. Hi again, Once you enter the offset number, hit enter, the background of the offset number will change to blue. Then click done. Remembering to hit enter has caught me out a couple of times also For the Ignition delay, this is because as the RPM increases, the ignition normally retards a little. This adjustment is to compensate for this. I recommend starting with it at zero and then increasing the engine RPM, use a timing light and see if the angle measured matches what PCLink says it should be. If not increase this adjustment little by little until they match well. Regards, Scott.
  5. Hi Ben, I've had a look at your log and can see whats happening, it shouldn't be doing this. I went to have a look at your basemap, but in it CLL is turned off, also the basemap is running FW version 4.8.5. do you have one showing which CLL settings you were running, it would be really good to track down why the ECU is doing this. Cheers, Scott.
  6. Hi, In the calibation section, try double clicking the 'Set base timing' option. This should allow you to set the offset up. Cheers, Scott.
  7. Hi, Good to hear you are making some progress. It sounds like your ignitor is definitely causing you some issues. The fact that you can lower your dwell and you can increase the rpm seems to confirm this. It is possible the factory ignitor has some sort of limiting built into it as protection. I would try swapping your factory ignitor out for an aftermarket type one. Cheers, Scott.
  8. Hi Shaun, No unfortunately the G4 is not compatible with the Rx8 dash. The G4 would be capable of running the engine with LPG. Cheers, Scott.
  9. As Stevieturbo said, they are available aftermarket quite cheaply. We sell bosch and delphi units, if you want to order through us email [email protected] Cheers, Scott.
  10. Hi Cam, Are the knock modes you have showing the following?: ON - Knk Internal ON - AN Knk Interface ON - DI Knk Interface If so these are all the modes available on the G4 Xtreme. The Internal mode is for using the inbuilt knock detection circuit, the AN and DI interfaces are for using external knock detection devices such as the G4 KnockBlock. In 2000 a lot of Subarus went to having 'second harmonic' knock sensors. These are not compatible with the knock detection on the G4 Xtreme. The easiest solution is going to be for you to replace your knock sensor with a bosch 'donut' style knock sensor. An alternative solution would be to use a knock detection device like the G4 KnockBlock that can work with second harmonic knock sensors. Regards, Scott.
  11. Hi Ben, Welcome to the Link forums, hopefully the Vi-PEC forum problems will be resolved shortly! Which version of firmware are you running in your V88? Also when the AFR is getting leaner and leaner, what are Lambda Status 1 and 2 reading? If you can post your basemap and (preferably) a log of what is happening I can test the problem here for you. Cheers, Scott.
  12. Hi Rob, Since firmware version 4.6.9 there have been some improvements to the vehicle speed function. If you update to firmware version 4.8.82 your problems should be resolved. You can get the new firmware in the PCLink install from our website. Cheers, Scott.
  13. Hi Joachim, We can repair the G4 ECUs. Email us at [email protected] to arrange. Cheers, Scott.
  14. Good morning, Sorry for the slow reply. In order to work out the correct VVT mode for you to use we need to know what the tooth arrangement is for the exhaust and intake cams. In the VVT setup menu there is a function called 'CAM Angle Test'. If you right click on this and select 'Whats this?' the help section will be displayed on how to use the function. Using this will help determine what the tooth arrangement is. If you can provide us with this information we can compare it to the different modes we have available and advise which one to use. When you do this make sure the engine is running nicely. Let us know how it goes, Regards, Scott.
  15. Hi Ian, Glad to hear you're making some progress. The distributor should be set as per a factory setup and then the offset adjusted on the sub-board. 250 rpm is pretty normal during cranking, and 2 engine revolutions is about right for the engine position to be calculated. Cheers, Scott.
  16. Good morning, It looks like you've put a lot of work into your build! For CDI we recommend M&W because they are known to be a quality unit. Unfortunately they are pricey. Cheers, Scott.
  17. Hi Josh, The 3 bar sensor would work fine. You would need to calibrate the sensor in PCLink, but a re-tune would not be required except for the higher boost areas where you are currently not tuned. Scott.
  18. Hi Andrew, Thanks for the photos. I think you spoke to Simon here yesterday on the phone. The main things to check are that your USB to serial adapter is on a com port less than 10, and that it is not showing any faults in Device Manager. Some USB to Serial adptors do give trouble, so it could be worth trying another one. Scott.
  19. Hi Ian, Apologies in taking a while to get the rotary switch settings to you. I have found a 3 page document that includes wiring up the sensors and setting up the switches. The pdf file is attached to this post. Hopefully it will guide you through ok! Cheers, Scott
  20. Hi, If you can tell me what numbers are on the white sticker on the ECU board I will be able to give you some advice. Also if possible a photo of the ECU board would be useful. Cheers, Scott.
  21. Hi Kurt, Thanks for your feedback, I will pass your request onto the software engineers. Cheers, Scott.
  22. Hi Barry, Apparently D-tech Motorsport, NZEFI and Speedtech Motorsport offer this service. Their contact details can be found here: http://www.linkecu.com/dealers/australasia-dealers/dealersnz  Scott.
  23. Hi, Welcome to the forum. A 36-1 crank trigger setup will work well. The ECU will trigger on the falling edge of the first tooth after the missing tooth. For your cam make sure you set trig 2 sync mode set to 'Cam Pulse 1x'. What sort of engine are you running? Scott.
  24. Hi again, Good to hear you have some experience with tuning already. Plenty of people have installed and tuned their own ECUs, and although it takes time and research I'm sure you'll be fine. We can help out with technical support if you run into any specific problems. PCLink, the tuning software for our ECUs, has a great help section that details a lot of the wiring and tuning setup, it would be worth having a good read of this. Scott.
  25. Hi Barry, I'm not certain on what you mean by e-tune. Do you mean someone remotely tuning your vehicle? Scott
