you've got CAN 2 set as transmit, it should be receive. Then just reload the stream i posted to make sure, for some reason there is a red error on byte1.
-
Can you post the map with the can setup?
-
No, it will be in Spartan mode by default.

Yes, Spartan has a termination resistor built in and it is enabled by default. I would use the Spartan in its default mode, use 1Mb/s and 1024 as ID. Use the attached stream definition. From the testing I have performed, the Spartan doesn't actually work in Link mode, the stream appears to be incorrect. (you would have needed to log in via serial bluetooth to change the mode/ID to Link CAN Lambda mode)

what are your cylinder knock gains set to (under cyl setup) ?

VVT or Non-VVT? if its VVT there is a basemap included with PCLink called "G4+ Xtreme Toyota 1UZFE VVTi.pclr". If non-VVT and distributor based then use the same file but change the trigger mode to the following as per Adams instructions :-
On 9/7/2019 at 9:56 AM, Adamw said:Start with the 1UZ VVTi base map that is supplied with PC Link. Go to the help file page >Engine Specific Information > Toyota >Toyota 1UZ-FE, copy the trigger settings from that page into the VVt map. Change the ignition mode to twin distributor and you will be ready to go.

It's probably because you don't have access permissions to save layouts to the default link folder (At the moment PC Link doesn't use the Users default write permission structure of Windows 10)
If you go to options and click on the directories tab, then untick deafults for log files and layout files, then change the two folders to the ones you have write access for (probably documents\???), then you should be able to write/read layouts and logs.

Yes, that is the pairing we use on 1uz engines. We use the following injector pairings (I think Adam may have suggested a different injector pairing :-
Firing order: 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 Wasted Spark Ignitier Config: IGN 1 IGN 2 IGN 3 IGN 4 1 & 6 8 & 5 4 & 7 3 & 2 Banked Injection Config: INJ 1 INJ 2 INJ 3 INJ 4 1 & 7 2 & 8 3 & 5 4 & 6 HTH,

IIRC, aux 4 is actually aux 9 (ethrottle) so that must be a typo in the manual. Can you use ign7 or 8 instead?
-
Have a look at runtime values, and see what the parameters engine kill, fuel and ignition cut are whilst cranking.
-
Assuming a NO switch then one pin to DI, other pin to ground, input latch off, pullup on, on level low, active edge falling. Hold button down for launch and release to de-activate.

I normally use an open barrel splice, like these
https://uk.farnell.com/amp-te-connectivity/140723-2/terminal-wire-splice-15-5awg-crimp/dp/2972010#
Depending on the thickness of the wire you're using, you might be able to double pin into the connector, but it will need to be thin wire. I have done this before but it can be tight.

Hi
I'm adding a 3 Bar MAP Sensor to my existing Link atom ECU but have a few questions.
The car is currently using the +5V Power out for the TPS sensor. I want to retain the TPS as the vehicle is running individual throttle bodies. As the Atom only has one +5v Output how can I supply +5v to both sensors?
You will need to splice into the 5 volt supply , usually near the ECU to supply a reference to any sensors
The MAP sensor requires a ground. Does this need to run back to the ECU or can I ground to a suitable spot on the engine block for example?
Yes, back to ECU , to a ground out pin , again you can splice into this if needed.
I have a spare 0 to 5Volt analog input on the ECU so I can just run the sensor signal OUT into this and configure the ECU to suit?
Yes.
HTH,
Richard
QuoteThanks

im sure you will be fine with the extra current. one way to check is in pclink go to runtime values f12 and look at the ecu tab it will tell you if the 5 volt supply is ok or not.

Also, internal lambda controllers in G4+ ECUs don't have a problem being near inductive loads (such as injectors and ISCVs)

I have monitored the current draw of CAN lambdas during heat up phase several times from ambient, using low voltage (10 Volts and nominal Voltage 13.8) Basically on the edge of failure mode, The maximum current they draw is 1.5 Amps (worst case at low voltage) . reducing down to about 1 Amp when up to temperature. I will post the Thunder current draw tomorrow when I can dig the values out.
-
It should be fine, the bosch controller current limits during the heating phase to a maximum of a couple of amps
-
I think this was resolved on a Facebook page, iirc you had the calibration data as afr but the calibration units as lambda ?
-
Yes, this is normal, and has been the same since at least 5.6.4
I always try and close pc link before I connect or have more than one copy open so you can keep the current file open.
-
Yes, 5 to 8 can high side drive. (apart from 5 and 6 on a monsoon)
-
A reliable method I use is to cut the positive feed near the fuel pump and insert a standard relay. Use the original supply wire to Terminal 86 to positive trigger the relay, hard ground terminal 85 and then Run a 2.5mm fused wire directly from the battery to terminal 30. Terminal 87 supplies power via the original short wire to the pump.

Richard.

You will need an external wideband controller, analog or can bus will work (I prefer can bus controllers)
Spartan 3ADV CAN Wideband connection issue

the CAN bus seems to be working now. Can you post a slightly longer log file from ignition on, so we can see the engine start? Also, what happens if you cycle the power on the Spartan while the engine is running?
