VWVR6MK2
Hello everyone, I'm having a hard time with an EJ20 swapped VW Bug, it has an old EJ20, aparently V1, the trigger settings are pre defined on ECU, I tried V1 and is not reading RPM, tried V6-7 (JDM) and it's reading, but it's giving spark on only 2 coils, i change the wiring setup from direct spark to wastedspark using ignition drive 1 and 2 and it's only firing on 2 cylinders as well, but if test the coils on ignition test, all of them are working. Tech support told me that the timing is lose after they check the scope but we double check timing many times and it's fine, I can upload the pictures of the crank gear and cam gears I have in case some Subaru expert can tell me if i'm using the incorrect cam gears, right now i have 6 teeths crank gear from the old style, gonna send you pictures in a minute. Resume: I need to know which is the correct combination of crank/cam gears to use with my engine, and which trigger. Thanks in advance! There's the pictures of the crank gears I have available at this time, and the cam gear pulley we are using (on cam sensor), which is the correct combination and which setup I need to run

neil brown
The cam wheel should have 2 markers 90 degrees apart when using the multi tooth wheel
Stevieturbo
you do have a mismatch of wheels there. 6 tooth crank usually ran a 3, 1, 2, 1 pattern on the camwheel. And as Neil says, the 36-2-2 crankwheel from 01+ typically had 2 teeth on the camwheel. I can only guess someone has modified that camwheel in your photo for a single tooth. No idea if the Link can run a custom trigger setup to allow you to make use of this config without changing pulleys though.
Adamw
There is no way to make it work with the modified cam gear you have. You will need one of the matching pairs below.
