senordos Posted March 24, 2021 Report Share Posted March 24, 2021 Hi, My Link has become almost unusable. When mapping, it constantly disconnects or fails to store. I thought it was the extension cable and have posted about this, but today I've tried it in the garage with the Link cable plugged directly into the laptop - no extension. senordos Posted March 24, 2021 Author Report Share Posted March 24, 2021 I’d say it’s only when the engine is running. The only plugs in the ecu are the 2x wiring harnesses and the ecu->laptop usb cable. I may be imagining it, but it seems worse if the car is under load / driving. senordos Posted March 25, 2021 Author Report Share Posted March 25, 2021 Hi Adam, Thanks for the response... a lot of potential problems to worry about there :-/ I recently wired in the knock microphone. When I use this, I need to have gain very low (set to 2 (two) ) so I suspect the signal on the line is strong. Do you think this could be a cause of the interference... Adamw Posted March 25, 2021 Report Share Posted March 25, 2021 No I doubt adding a knock sensor would cause any issues. Usually a high current or high voltage device that is causing a large magnetic loop. Coils, coil wiring and sparkplugs would be the first items to inspect. senordos Posted March 25, 2021 Author Report Share Posted March 25, 2021 Hmm, ok. I’m not entirely sure what I am to check on ignition system. It’s the same system the car was initially mapped with.
