Seth
Howdy all, so im looking at buying a G4x extreme for my ae86 with a 350z engine - i am running the full nissan loom with canbus controlled fuse/relay box in the engine bay. I know i can buy the PNP 350z ecu from link but id prefer the flexability with the extreme ecu. My question is : if the PNP ecu can control the nissan canbus relay box than i assume the G4X can too? Vaughan
You can wire one of the CAN ports on the Xtreme to the 350z CAN wiring and use the same CAN bus setup as the plugin yes.
Seth
Ah ok, so its that and just a simple software download? i would think you would need 2 outputs cause there are 2 canbus wires on the nissan loom? Can H & can L?
Vaughan
The 350z CAN mode is just an option in the CAN Setup window. You would need to connect both CAN H and CAN L from either CAN 1 or CAN
Seth
Ok got it...i think I guess it will become clearer when i get the ecu thanks mate! Vaughan
Adamw
I can foresee potential issues with for instance some of the other CAN devices such as the ABS unit missing. But you wont know until you try, so it is a bit of a risk. What is the reason for using the 350Z loom - seems like a complicated way to do it? Seth
I already have the whole setup running with the factory ecu, just the way i set it up i guess...and dont want to rewire the fuse/relay box like a normal setup (big job)
Adamw
Ok, if it works with the factory ecu then I dont see any reason why it wont with one of our ECU's.
