kaptainballistik
(Preface.. yes. It’s all Tune dependant.) Will iridium plugs withstand Plug fouling better if a different dwell time is used? I’m getting an issue where the car is constantly fouling iridium plugs . Coppers? Seems quite fine... unfortunately my motor doesn’t have a Copper plug equivalent. (The long reach plug type) EDIT: apparently there is a copper plug that may fit........ (Subaru, all dwell settings a per the v10 map....) For the short time it was on the dyno it is ok (and had decent A/F, the fuel pump was having an issue on boost) but it will gradually stuff the plugs moving it around the garage. Heck my VR4 would chew up iriduims. Copper plugs are ZERO issues... that... or has someone found a copper plug for a 08 on Subaru.... Adamw
More likely heat range is too cool. Our base map has around 5ms dwell at idle so the coil will be very near saturated, increasing dwell wont help. You need more heat to burn off the deposits.
