FIS
Hello, I am installing Fury to K20 Honda engine, does anyone know how Fury control the alternator. The alternator connector has 4 pins: IG connects to ignition switch, the other 3 pins C, L and FR connect to ECM. Appreciate you help I use Fury G4X, I am sorry I should put this in G4X forum
Adamw
The K20 alternator works fine without the ECU connection. The factory ECU would just tell it to reduce voltage under some cruise conditions to save fuel and emissions. Without ECU connection it just charges at normal voltage all the time ~14.5V. HarryBeron
I’m in a similar situation to this with a Honda alternator. But have my wiring mostly done. Is it possible to excite the field winding from a ecu controlled source such as fuel pump. That way when the ign is on it’s not “wasting” current draw when alternator isn’t charging. Adamw
Which pin are you talking about - "IG"?
HarryBeron
Um the black and yellow +12v wire , so yes the ig one on the alternator. Is it safe to connect him to the fuel pump relay or something switched- only when engine runs.
Adamw
I dont see why not, but I suspect it would only be using mA's so not usually an issue just having it ign swithed - hence the label "ig".
