BenAmr2turbo
Hi there, I have recently bought an MXG 7in Dash display to use with my G4x on an MR2 turbo. I was wondering if the dash has an odometer to conform to MOT requirements? I'm assuming it would start at 0 miles, but does this matter for MOT purposes? Obviously the milesge wouldn't tally up, but I am not planning to sell the car, and if I did - I would include the original clocks and tell the buyer. As far as I know this isn't illegal. Does anybody that has experience with fitting an MXG to a street car know the score? Thanks in advance Ben.
Vaughan
They do have odometers, I can't confirm they conform to MOT requirements. Not a bad idea to talk to a MOT person to check this.
Adamw
It has one "System Odometer" which is "non-resetable (starts at zero when new) which covers the legal requirements in most countries. There are also 4 further user-resettable odometers that are intended as trip meters etc but some users like to set up one of these with the original car mileage and display that on the dash rather than the system odo starting from zero. BenAmr2turbo
That's good to know thanks, I will give that a go when the dash comes - as I believe they are on back-order. As far as I know you just need a working odometer for an MOT so I sounds like it will be fine, as long as it displays easily enough. Thanks for the replies
