alminc Posted May 1, 2023 Report Share Posted May 1, 2023 I am trying to get VR type wheel speed sensors to work on a Link G4x extreme. When reading the sensors on an oscilloscope, I get a clean reading of .8 volts to -.8 volts on a Pico scope. When wiring the LF wheel speed sensor to DI7 with one side of the sensor wired to DI7 and the other side of the sensor wired to sensor ground, I get no signal. Hodgdon Extreme Posted May 2, 2023 Report Share Posted May 2, 2023 This product makes it way easy to deal with sinusoidal signals from variable reluctance speed sensors: https://sirhclabs.com/product/vr-to-hall-sensor-converter/ They sell a dual-channel unit also: https://sirhclabs.com/product/vr-to-hall-sensor-converter-dual-channel/ Basically you hook up the two wires from the VR sensor, +5V power, sensor ground - and it outputs a nice clean 5V square wave. Even better, it sinks no current so you can tap into VR signals and "listen in" to them without disturbing the basic signal - which means you can leave the WSS signals hooked up to your ABS module, but also use them as inputs into your G4x. I have this up and running on my IS300 - I have OEM ABS functional with no error codes, meanwhile I have a front WSS piped into the G4x for traction control calibration.
