sungwon
hello I'm trying to get the vehicle speed signal from the ABS sensor on my Genesis Coupe. And now the ABS module has been removed and I'm thinking of using a dakota Sgi-100bt (I did this easily with the is300 before). I looked for data, but I couldn't find any data on the Genesis Coupe's ABS sensor, and the EVO X's ABS sensor seems to be similar. First, I want to try supplying current to one of the two ABS wires and attaching a resistor, but I don't have accurate information. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it
koracing
if it's a 2 wire sensor most likely it's a reluctor and doesn't need any power running to it. One wire would be signal + and the other signal -. You have a 50/50 shot of it being in the correction orientation and it may work even if it's wrong depending on what edge you use to trigger. You would most likely need something to boost the signal as at low speed the signal coming from it won't be enought to trigger a digital input directly. Is that what the dakota digital device is supposed to do? sungwon
sungwon
thank you for your reply You have successfully connected to Dakota Digital as described. As mentioned above, I used it on the IS300 car without a problem, but it doesn't work the same way on the current Genesis Coupe
koracing
Do you have access to an oscilloscope to read the AC waveform from the sensor if you spin the wheel in the air?
Adamw
Im pretty sure the Gensesis will be an active sensor, you will need some type of external conditioner to make it work. This one may work: https://sirhclabs.com/product/cortex-ebc-speed-sensor-adapter/
C_rod203
@Adamwwould that module work with 350z differential speed sensors?
Adamw
I have no personal experience with that particular device, just know of a couple of users that has successfully used it with active sensors.
