linklearner
Hi guys, I'm currently wiring a NA 13B with a Davies Craig Electric Water Pump and a AtomX and are wanting to Drive the Pump from a spare AUX and wanting to know if it is OK to do it through a Hella Solid State Relay, in the Specs for the Water Pump it states current draw is 10A and the SSR is rated to 22A, is it safe to use one of these SSRs and if it is safe to use it in a standard Relay Holder on the Relay board in the Vehicle? Thanks

Adamw
I have no experience with the waterpump, but I've used the hella relay for a small fuel pump that pulled about 10A max and it worked ok. Best to use an ign or inj drive as these will backfeed if connected to permanent 12V.
linklearner
Do you mean it will backfeed through the Relay Coil Circuit? I don/t have any spare Inj or Ign left and only have the AUX available should I Wire Pin 86 to a switch 12V feed?
Adamw
86 is the signal from the ecu aux. If you only have an aux output then pin 30 will have to be from an ignition switched source to prevent it backfeeding, not direct from battery. GW_Rowan
I've actually got a Link -> controlling a Davies water pump. And I think it's actually going through one of those SSRs the label above it ENG/WP. I'm not 100% sure what's on that circuit but I'd say good chance you're fine.
