ross lance Posted April 20, 2024 Report Posted April 20, 2024 I cant find the diagram anymore, but im not used to seeing shield wires ground at both ends. The crank sensor for example has 3 wires, reference voltage, reference ground, and a smaller shield wire going into the crank position sensor which is VR. \ How would one go about this? Terminate the shield right before the sensor and then again at the ECU like normal? I dont know what goes on in the actual sensor, but I can clearly see a very small gauge clear wire that is "shield" on the diagrams. This is also the same for the knock sensors, which is one black wire and a very small clear wire for shielded on the 2 wire knock sensors. Quote
Adamw Posted April 21, 2024 Report Posted April 21, 2024 The shield is only grounded at the ecu end, it needs to pass through any connector between the ecu and sensor so that the full length of cable is shielded - including the short length of cable after that connector pictured. Quote
