Cosworth Yb running link g4 xtreme & msd dis 2 plus

Hi,

 

as you can tell I am running a ford cosworth yb with a link g4 xtreme with a msd dis 2 plus ignition and wasted spark.

 

I have no spark at all. do I need an msd dual channel adapter?

No you wont need a MSD ignition adapter.  You have the ignition trigger set to 'rising' right?  Do you get RPM displayed in PC link during cranking?

Hi,

thanks for your reply. Yes, the ignition trigger is set to rising. The engine rpm also goes up when cranking.

the msd warning light bleeps three times. The fault on the msd fault code table is something to do with the input triggering signal.

the engine is running a stock crank pulley and distributor signal pickup

I still do not know what to do as the wiring is brand new and re ckecked twice.

I haven't used a MSD DIS for many years and never with a G4 so I may not be much help, but can you please post your map and if poss a log of the engine cranking.

Hi.

Have you tried the 'ignition test' option to verify that the MSD is working?

You can also test the MSD by just grounding the trigger wire on them. (disconnect from the Link Ecu first).
