Wiring single wire knock sensor to g4 knockblock

I have a g4 knockblock and am wiring it to a knock sensor with only a single wire. The knock signal wire will go to this wire but what should I wire the ground wire to? The engine block, the shield wire or something else?

In this case leave the sensor earth disconnected.
