shane lynch
Link G4 Storm Car is a 2000 USDM Impreza 2.5RS, supposedly it has a built 2004 2.5l UDSM Sti short block. The heads, coils, etc are from the 2000 2.5RS. Car is turbo. Car starts and runs, but in the 3000-4000 RPM range it is getting some kind of bad signal. The RPM limit activation is kicking on because the Link G4 is seeing the RPMs randomly jump to 10000+ RPMs. I tried playing with the Trigger 1 and 2 filter settings and voltage settings, but haven't found anything that makes it better. I have been able to force the motor past 4000 RPMs a couple times and it seems to clean up. The trigger mode is set to Subaru V1-6.
Simon
Hi Can you please post or email your current PCL file so I can have a look at the trigger configuration. Are you running wasted spark or individual coils? If wasted spark make sure you have resistive plugs and leads fitted. I also assume you do not have variable can timing. shane lynch
It has the wasted spark coil setup. Plugs are NGK BKR6E, which are resistor. Wires are some Carquest Global Solutions 7mm Suppression Cable. I have no idea on the specs of these wires.
shane lynch
Any ideas?
Simon
I have had a look through the PCL file and can not see any thing out of the ordinary. Do you have the option available of scoping the two trigger inputs and sending an image through.
shane lynch
Video of RPM limit being activated Video of scope
shane lynch
There are some pic at 1200rpms with it fine and at 3200rpms with the problems. It is fine until arounf 3200RPMs and then it thinks it's hitting revlimiter 10000+ rpms. If I can force it to go past 4000RPMs, then it seems to go away. Simon
Looking at the scope video. Your cam sensor is the incorrect polarity. If you reverse the connection to this sensor I suspect all will come right.
shane lynch
Switching the 2 wires around at the cam sensor plug did fix the problem.
