Matt_s14 Posted August 30, 2018 Report Posted August 30, 2018 Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and car scene in general so I'm seeking a bit of advice with my recent swap. I've just put a new longblock into my s14 and I'm running in to a few issues; -The turbo is not spinning (or very little) -The exhaust manifold is getting extremely hot almost instantly I'm lead to believe that my timing is out with 'retarded ignition'? I've searched the problem online and on a few forums but their turbos seem to spin fine. The longblock I've swapped in has aftermarket everything; ie it's fully built. Would this cause the timing to be out? The previous tune was on a close-to stock motor.. I've done my best to align the CAS via manuals/videos online but it's still doing the above. Any ideas would be appreciated! Cheers Quote

Adamw Posted August 31, 2018 Report Posted August 31, 2018 Yes, it does sound like it is quite possibly retarded. The base timing should be near the first thing you do on a new install or if its been apart. Quote
