NathanE
Hi everyone, I have an early 1998 wrx wagon that had a link G1 installed when I got it. Earlier this year jumper leads got put on the wrong way and now I have no electrics at all. I checked every fuse and relay with a multimeter and they're all fine. I've opened up the ecu case to check for diodes and there are none on the ecu. I found a burned resistor and an IC that looks like it's popped. Does anyone have a schematic or might know what the IC might be? I've circled the resistor and the IC in red. Cheers, NathanE
Simon
The IC is a TPIC2701 and the resistor is a 1R, 1Watt
Fabio_dxb
is there any fail safe on a g4+ fury in case the polarity get inverted?

There is a large TVS diode inside that should protect the ecu, assuming you have an appropriately sized fuse on the main supply as the wiring diagram shows. If there is no fuse then it will possibly fry the diode.
