CANbus Starter Control

Is there any way to implement starter control over CANbus? I'm intending to use one of the buttons on the CAN Keypad for engine Start/Stop and the starter solenoid is controlled by a CAN based PDM.

I have a Motec PDM starting the engine. All the logic is configured in the PDM.

Since I have auto-start configured, all the ECU is providing is RPM via can back to the PDM. (so it will stop cranking once a 400 rpm is reached)

Same button is used for STOP and ECU is configured to accept Anti-theft CAN message to cut spark and fuel.

Yes you could do all logic in the AIM pdm, or if you want the ecu to do the logic then the workaround in G4+ is to bridge an aux out to a DI like pic below.  Your starter button signal can then come in via CAN, it triggers the aux which triggers the DI and then the starter solenoid request can be sent back to PDM via CAN.

Thank you both. Adam, you are like an open book!! But, G4+ and G4X have both same Can Bus protocol? I can see AIM has in their manual protocol for G4+ but a technical support man said me he cannot guarantee G4X works as well as G4+. Do you know it?
