  1. Hi, The above base map was enough to get the car started. But you need to adjust master fuel, change values for your fuel injector dead times according to what you have. It will not be perfect for sure, your tuner will have to do the rest.
  2. Hi Adam, The initial base timing degree set from the tune shop was 352 degrees. After I did rotor phasing and set base timing, the 10 degrees BTDC mark now lines up with 342 degrees locked at 10 degrees. Car idles rough and dies. I believe it's now retarded by 10 degrees. Do I need to change values in the ignition table and any other areas? Appreciate if you relook at my tune file in my previous message and advise the areas I also need to check and update. Many thanks
  3. Hi Adam, sorry for the late response. Thanks for the clarifying the base timing setting. I've adjusted the distributor following the instructions for rotor phasing and I managed to set the base timing. The mark lines up at 10 BTDC. The car is more rough on idle now and AFR is averaging 18.4 The log file is bigger than 500k. I've uploaded to a google folder. Hope it's ok for you to retrieve through the link below. The tune file is also in the folder location. I am not very experienced so if there is anything else you need or i can make to improve will be highly appreciated. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gplWKNicUiUr5sks0eLjW25lGfA5tTQ9?usp=sharing thanks
  4. Hi Adam, Need your expertise here. I seem to struggle with setting up base timing. I've followed your above instructions and experiencing a behavior that don't seem normal. With Engine at Idle, i opened Set Base Timing. The Lock Ignition Timing is already set to 10 Degrees. i entered -25 to offset ignition and hit Enter, the Timing light flashes with the crank pulley mark on 10 Degrees BTDC It also stays at 10 BTDC on rev up. Engine also idle nicely as well. When i click done and perform a store to ECU. The crank pulley mark moves behind away from the 10 BTDC mark and Idles rough. I did a small drive and gets a lot of trigger misses. Hope you can give me some pointers on where i am wrong or where else i can check. Please let me know if you need any logs of any sort.' appreciate your help
  5. Hi Adam, i got an old distributor cap and drill holes to see the node and rotor. I rotated the crankshaft wheel to 10 degrees BTDC, the rotor tab was somewhere in the the middle of the 1st node on the cap. I loosen the distributor and twisted it until the tail end of the rotor tab was over the node, very close to the diagram above. Car drives ok, idles quite stable as well, i haven't noticed a miss fire yet, fingers crossing here. However i noticed it's harder to startup, Do i need to get the engine re timed with the ECU? I've also captured a trigger scope for your assessment, captured while engine is running. Many Many Thanks This is the current ignition setup TriggerScopeLog after rotor adjust.llgx
  6. Thanks Adam, Idle Ignition Control is turned off, that rev up and miss isn't happening like before. The car has been driving beautifully for a couple of days. There is still a random miss but not as frequent as before. Your suggestion has definitely made an improvement, from a couple of misses in every drive to one in a couple of drives. Are there any other areas i can potential check and make improvements? Appreciate all your help.
  7. Sorry Adam, Rookie status is rookie i am, do you mind telling me where that setting might be please.
  8. sure, attached PC Datalog - 2023-06-23 2;00;37 pm.zip
  9. Hi Adam, It's been a while and am still chasing the misfire. I've since done a few things and noticed a pattern before it misses. This is more frequent during idle, where it revs up a little then misses. I've changed from standard plugs to iridium heat 7 plugs and noticed the misfire is more predictable. The last miss on the log, the engine died. What are the ingredients to checking idling apart from Idle Speed control? appreciate your help.
  10. hi Adam, My apologies on the mix up on files. I've recaptured them for you. I've attempted to capture on when the trigger miss happens but quite hard. Am waiting to hear back regarding the wiring of the G1 and NE sensors. thanks TriggerScopeLog close.llgx TriggerScopeLog at idle.llgx TriggerScopeLog 2000rpm.llgx
  11. Hi Adam, Attached are the two scope captures at idle and and 2000rpm It's too intermittent to capture a scope when the trigger misses happens. I've also attached the log of today's drive. appreciate your help TriggerScopeLog 2000rpm.llgx TriggerScopeLog at idle.llgx PC Datalog - 2023-03-23 5;22;08 pm.zip
  12. Trigger captured during cranking, please advise how or when it should be captured. The trigger errors can happen at at time. Idling at the lights, cruising at 50-60km/hr and on the motorway between 100-110km/hr. During idle, i can almost feel that it will happen when the rpm jiggles at 1000, engine feels a little rough then it would briefly cut off. It would cause a big jerk when moving the car from idle.
  13. hi Adam, Need your expertise please. I'm also experiencing random trigger misses on my 1997 Toyota Starlet, EP91 with 4efte engine. It doesn't seem to do it while the engine is cold and engine temp is under 80 degrees. I've attached my tune, log and trigger scope. Hope you can give pointers on what might be causing these random misses. thanks TriggerScopeLog.llgx PC Datalog - 2023-03-16 5;20;50 pm.llgx Current Tune.pclx
  14. hi guys, Have recently got the car back from tunning. The car runs great but takes a long time to start up in the morning. It starts back up almost instantly when warm. Is there anything we can refine to make it startup easier on cold? thanks in advance
  15. Hi Adam, Need your expertise help please. We've wired in a Link Monsoon G4X into a 1997 Starlet with 1300cc 4efte engine. Managed to load the above startup map and car can start with lots of black smoke coming off the exhaust. This is running on the factory injectors we believe are 293cc with CT9 turbo. We want to fit in the new 650cc injectors with bigger fuel pump. Will you be able to adjust the startup map to accommodate the bigger injectors? At least drivable to the tune shop that is 5km away This is all new to me and i got a wonderful mate that helped with the project. Please let me know if you need any further info. Appreciate your help. thanks Terry
