  1. Hi

Try to do the firmware upgrade again.

Suggest having VTS configured so it is in manual connect mode that way it wont keep trying to connect whilst the firmware update is running.

Also if you are using any device on the can/rs232 plug make sure this is unpluged right at the ECU.

  2. Nice engine choice. Would love one of those for my own project. Try to lower the filter levels to level 1 on both triggers. This wont help the coms but might stop the RPM like limit. A firmware upgrade would likely stop the logging problem. Make sure you have the very latest before going too deep with tuning.

  3. The short answer is no.

To get sequential you need some sort of reference so the ECU knows what TDC it is on.

This is normally done with a second sensor.

In this case fitting a crank sensor and modifying the existing trigger would be the best option.

Having a crank trigger will also give better timing stability.

  4. Can you give me some more info about the engine make, trigger configuration.

Noise issues are high energy noise being radiated from the ignition system.

This can even be as simple as the coil breaking down and arcing out the side to the block.

This will then put alot of electrical noise out and can cause the ECU com problems.

  5. I would suggest starting with 5% in the table and then work up from there. The Boost adjust option is if you are running a trim pot to allow cabin adjustable boost. As a starting point have a look at some of our base maps. The V7 Subaru one would be a good example. It has boost scaled off TPS. The Help file is a very good point of reference also. Simplest way to get 0.7bar would be to switch the solenoid off.

  6. Chances are you have some noise issues.

It will get worse the more load on the engine.

I assume you are running CDi on wasted spark?

Resistive plugs are a must. Leads will also need to be resistive.

Wiring layout will be critical also. Avoid trigger wires going near any of the HT.

We can supply a serial tuning cable which will help if you have a serial port on the laptop.

  7. Looking at the ignition system you are using, It is normally triggered off points or from an igniter. You will need to use Rising spark edge if triggering direct from the ECU.

You dwell table can be set to a flat 3ms.

I also assume the distributor has no mechanical timing (vacuum or RPM based)
