  1. Hi there, Will the Lexus V8 non VVT version run on a linkplus with a SUB24NEW Sub=board in it? If not what sub-bpard will it require? Â Â
  2. Have a question which should be an easy one I hope.  I have a linkplus ecu Inside it has LPV14 and 140809 and the subboard has SUB24NEW 140809.  We are planning on using it on a Toyota 1GGTE engine. I know is there are two signals from the dist, one is the 24 pulse signal. Is this trigger 1 or trigger 2? Also should the other one be 6 pulses, one for each cylinder or should it be only one pulse for a reference signal. If it is a single pulse when should it occour in relation to TDC cyl 1?
  3. I too think it would be a great feature addition, as we have the same issue. Have a gear position sensor in the box, but we dont run vehicle speed sensors
  4. I had a real issue with tis too a while ago. It is quite confusing and took me a while to sort it as it was in how I had wired the car. Â If you have power from the ignition switch feed the ecu power and also feed a relay windings, and that relay switches on someting that is negative triggered by the ecu like a boost solenoid, VVT soleoind etc, then it creates a loop which stops that relay and the ECU from turning off. Â Easiest way to make sure you have no problem is make sure that there is no voltage on any of the ECU pins with the ignition off, and use a relay to switch the ign feed to the ecu that triggers nothing else. Â . Â
  5. Â A question relating to calibrating a speed sensor. I have a speed sensor calibration number of 191 The Link reads a top speed of 330kmh, where my GPS shows a maximim of 227kmh. Â Is there a maths equation from these number to correctly calibrate the speedo reading? Â Â Â Â
  6. Once again I have the feeling that I may be asking for a feature that it already has... Stopping and starting the data logging. As it only logs 10 sessions at present, is it possible to have different things that start stop logging. As rather than having to have an actual switch to start/stop and a light to signal which, it would be goo if you could say start logging when say TPS> 85% and Speed > 40kmh, but once started contine logging until either ign switched off or something like tps< 20% for more than 60 seconds etc. As If you have it logging all the time by the time you unload the car from the trailer, move it around the pits, then warm it up, drive it to the dummy grid, stop as there is a delay, start it again, drive the warm up lap, you have already logged 5 different sessions. Is something like this possible now or in the future? Or a better suggestion?
  7. We run the Link G4 Extreme with an AIM dash. Took a bit for me to figure it all out but is does work well now.
  8. Previously Gustaf wrote: I'm looking at a AIM MXL or Race Techonolgy Dash2 setup. We have a G4 Extreme and a AIM MXL dash and did have them working together, although there was a couple of sensors that I did have to wire straight to the dash. I did have it all working and the dash display working, but since I did a firm ware upgrade it seems to have stopped and I have not had a chance to get back to it. Still in the sorting it all out stage. What sensors were you looking at having to split or double up on?
  9. I have been having a whole heap of issues this week with the setup I am doing now and this problem appears to be the same as one of them. I have a G4 extreme and even when connected I was unable to to see Aux outputs 9 and 10. I put it down to I was using a different laptop than the one I normally use that had a different version of PCLink, and there may have been a compatability issue, so you may be experiencing that too?
  10. That is fine. We will run a rear wheel speed sensor anyway and will let the ECU calculate the gear for ECU functions, But we will wire the AIM dash directly to the gear sensor for readout on the dash. We have been trying to avoid doubling up on sensors by wiring almost everything to the ECU and then sending it via can/rs232 to the AIM dash.
  11. I see how the ECU can determine gear from wheel speed and RPM's, but can you get it to determine gear from a variable resistor? We have a gear position sensor in the gearbox, but we dont have a wheel speed sensor at this stage? Can it be connected to an analogue input and done that way?
  12. Sorry when I said upgraded, I sold my G3 and bought a G4.

    GP RPM Limit

Just upgraded from G3 to G4 and trying get use to the New PClink 4.6. I can find the GP RPM limit 1 and 2, But I cannot find anywhere how to program what the RPM limit is based on? In the help section is shows an example using oil pressure, but I i program an oil pressure sensor, I cannot find where to tell the GP RPM limit to work off oil pressure, and cannot find the table with the value's in it??
  14. Oh, and I have replied here in the G2/G3 section as this is where the original post is, But we are running a G4 on the engine.
  15. Project is nearing completion, and the engine is away at the engine builders getting assembled, but we have the spare engine here. There is a magnetic 2 wire sensor on each of the crank and the cam, but I dont have the number of teeth yet. I will be able to pull it apart further and find out, but sorting the location of the sensors in relation to TDC may be a problem. Have you guys got any more information on this since my last post?
  16. I can understand how you have wired the relay's ( I think ) similar to how I wire them. The C.E Light. The ECU earths the C.E. Light but what about the power side of the bulb? Does the power to the bulb turn off with ign sw, as if not power can track through the bulb into the ECU and keep everything on.
  17. Hi, I run this in my car, but I run an 11 position switch to have 11 different boost settings. If you have a little bit of electrical knowledge it is no hard to do, and only requires 1 input. Here's how I did it. I used a Rotary switch that clicks into positions, I think it was up to 12 positions, with a locking tab so you could make it any number up to 12, and so that was how I got 11 positions. It has one common terminal and connects to each other pin one at a time. I soldered 10 resistors from output 1 to output 2, output 2 to output 3, output 3 to output 4, etc etc. All resistors must be the same value and from memory were .5K ohm, so in total the resistance from output 1 to output 11 was 5K ohm. Then feed a 5V feed into output 1, and and earth onto output 11. and an analogue input channel to the common wire. This will put out 0.0V at position 1 0.5v at position 2 1.0 at position 3, etc etc, Set up the boost control as though you are going to use an analogue potentiometer, and so each position it lines up exactly with one of the rows in the table, meaning that you know by which position the switch is in, what row in the table it is in. using an analogue potentiometer would be just as good and have the same outcome, only thing different is the system I use clicks. I actually fitted the system quite a while ago, but have only recently been using the link for my boost control and this system works great.

    GP outputs

Is it possible to add speed to the list of options for GP output. Speed as in road speed not engine speed. We are building a vehicle that runs an alternator off the rear axel as it is not possible to fit one to the engine, and so would like to be able to switch a few things on and off with vehicle speed to save on power, such as the pump for the water to air intercooler, which is not required unless the car is moving as there will be no airflow through it etc, and some other things also. so if it's possiblt to add road speed to the GP list, and also the Digital input nuetral/park input as another GP selectable, it would be appreciated
  19. Looking for a sample of logged data from a link ecu. Looking at upgrading mine to do the logging, but want to see if there is a sample so I can see what format it is in, and if I can do waht i want with the data. is there one downloadable from the site, or anyone have one they can email me. matt
  20. Has the data logging been released for the G3 ECU's?
  21. Yes it will do 4AGE 20V VVT as it that is only on and off control, The other type is VVT-i which is infinatly variable, or closed loop cam timing, which the old ones did do. I had a Linkplus V10 on my old 4AGE 20V turbo, which i sold with the engine when I sold it.
  22. Some questions about the different launch control modes on the LEM G3. They way I understand it I cant run Mode 2 as I need a digital input for speed, and another for the disarming switch, but the ecu has only one. If I ran an inline switch in the speed signal input, it would upset the way it works as when I switched it off it would see no speed signal, and activate it? Is that correct or do I not understand it correctly?
  23. I have just downloaded version 4.2 as when our car was at the tuner he updated the firmware in it, so we had to update our version to be compatable, which is no problem. Loaded it in as per normal, Opened up PClink v4.2 and click on help, then version information, and that is as far as it gets, doesn't bring up the info, and jams that version of PClink. Can open it, cant close it, cant do anything except restart the laptop or Ctrl+Alt+Del and close it that way. All the other parts of the laptop still work while it is jammed, can open PClink v3.4, acess the net etc etc, just that one program jams. Is it something I have done, or is is the program. Anyone else have this program, and do they get the same fault, or does Link have any suggestions?
  24. I have just downloaded version 4.2 as when our car was at the tuner he updated the firmware in it, so we had to update our version to be compatable, which is no problem. Loaded it in as per normal, on the desktop screen it comes up as just PCLINK, with no V4.2 etc on the end of it, and as I still run a G3 and older things aswell I though I would rename it with the version number, as the new PClink V3.40 uses the same icon. Opened up PClink v4.2 and click on help, then version information, and that is as far as it gets, doesn't bring up the info, and jams that version of PClink. 25. Thanks, It's all in and running and was tuned today so job all complete, and even got the wiring finished on the V8 with the G4 and got it to run (sort of) so just need to sort ignition timing and tuning and it should be all go too.
