Thanks guys

I’m just wondering if you are able to have the thermo fan on when the engine is off (ignition on reds) to cool the engine after a race etc or until coolant temp drops below a pre defined value
ecu is a link g4+ fury in a r32 gtr with a spal 16” engine thermo fan

I would say the main problem is the ISC speed lockout is set to "Driven wheel speed", then under speed sources you have the driven wheel speed source set to "Average rear wheel speed", but there are no rear wheel speed sensors assigned, so the speed lockout will never work. This means closed loop will start winding the throttle closed anytime you are in overrun, then when you push the clutch in the throttle is too closed so the RPM drops and stalls.
I suggest changing both driven and non-driven wheel speed source to "LF wheel". Set ISC speed lockout to 10kmh. A couple other changes I would suggest:
- Change idle ign control AP lock out to 0.8%.
- I would typically have idle target error on the axis of the idle ign table - not engine speed. It should work ok as is provided you never want to change idle speed.
- E-throttle target table will probably work better without the big change in target below 1500RPM. I would generally have the same value right across the whole top row - unless you have an engine which is slow to return to idle then I sometimes have a smaller target above say 1500rpm.
In my ethrottle target table
top row, idle is at 5.0, do you recommend I change settings between 0 to 1500rpm to 5.0
instead of at the moment how it is setup as for example 12, 12, 9, 5, 2 etc etc

Excellent Thankyou for the reply’s guys
I will make these changes and report back after the weekend and see how it goes
Thankyou

Ignition idle control reduces timing at 1200rpm and idle control is set for 1150rpm with 100rpm deadband (idle control isn't doing anything between 1050-1250) so it could get into situation where it's reduced timing and idle control isn't doing anything to correct it (Adam may know better).
Idle seems to be set kind of high, if you're happy with this you could try change ignition idle settings to:
or bump up anti stall gain slightly and see what effect it has.
It seems to idle ok but I can see on my digital dash my ignition timing at idle jumping between 5 and 15 and everywhere in between
and idle will vary around 100rpm up and down from the 1150rpm idle target

ok sorted
current tune file attached, not sure if anything there you can see which will help my issues
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jwcuvSSOpYSVVswK5Y1IODkiv307tVrB/view?usp=sharing
will try and hopefuly get a log if i can of it doing the stalling later this week/weekend
-
i cant attach tune file
and specific sites you recommend to share the file to here ?
thanks

Speed lock out in idle speed control is at 2.0kph
i Will try get a log it’s just hard as it’s so random but I will try get one next weekend
in the mean time I will add my tune file tomorow

I have had this issue on going since i changed to a link fury g4+ Ecu
sometimes I can be driving, brake to reduce speed, downshift, then for example clutch in to enter a drive way and it stalls,
other times I could be slowing down clutch in and stalls or sometimes I hold it in a gear to the very last minute before I come to a stop, then clutch in and still does it
could even be driving on highway, take the exit come to a stop and stalls
then I can be driving and it never does itit’s so inconsistent that I can’t pick it, nothing to do with driving style, temperature, how long I’ve driven for etc just happens randomly
anyone have any input into what could be happening
also with my old vipec v88 and when I first went DBW it didn’t do it, then I changed to a link fury g4+ and since has done it
-
That’s great info thanks

What disable speed would
be More acceptable
also if I was to wire up a launch control which, where does it get wired to, an AUX input ?
-
Hey guys
i have a link g4+ fury in my r32 gtr,
i had abit of issues enabling launch control the current way it is setup, which is via speed input, ie 0kmh, foot flat and it should enable, then after say 5kmh is turns off
but last time at the drags sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t so I think I need to wire it to a switch to enable it,
is that the best way ?
any more info on setting it up properly would be appreciated
thanks
-
yes the stock r32 Gtr wheel sensors are used
Ok thanks I will make those changes to the speed sources table
Are you saying launch control will be inconsistent using di3
-
Also my launch control is activated using DI3
-
Hey guys
Just came across this looking through my ecu settings and I’m not sure if it’s correct or not
I have Digital Input 3 (DI 3) - LF wheel speed
but when I go into the “speed sources” table I am seeing the following:
*Driven Wheel Speed Source: average rear speed
*Non Driven Wheel Speed Source: average front speed
should the driven wheel speed source also be LF wheel speed ? -
Perfect Thankyou

Hey guys
i got a link fury g4+ running Bosch 2200cc injectors
can anyone confirm that Injector Dynamics ID2000’s are the same injector and no changes would be needed (apparently ID are flow and dead time matched)
thanks

Awesome Thankyou

I replaced my factory water temp sensor with a Bosch temp/pressure sensor in one
works great

hi guys
I'm after some help in increasing my boost, as I'm not very familiar with the g4+ wastegate duty table
log shows going through gears 1 - 4 and showing peak of around 31psi in higher gears, I want to increase it to around 35psi or so
it does run a 4 port boost solenoid
gate pressure is around 23/24psi
any help would be much appreciated
I will attach my tune file and log file if that's of any help
thanks

On another note
can base ignition timing be set while cranking the car, cold ?
or should the car be running when hot to check?
-
Ok thanks
I had a feeling that was the case
-
Hello
without using a timing light, can you see what your actual base timing is using the software ?
I need to check my base timing, but I came across the runtime value page (f12), click the “ignition” tab and it shows “ign angle (BTDC)” 13.0
is this correct or am I way off in thinking this

What do you mean? Why would RPM behave different for E-throttle?
Sorry just checked my settings again:
MAP lockout is 100kpa
RPM lockout is 2000rpm
Speed lockout is 20kmh
tp/ap lockout is 4.0%
do these settings seem abit high and could be giving me issues at at slow speed/light load like in car parks etc ?
-
Sorry what I meant was I just checked mine it’s set at 150rpm, the pop up help section said 150rpm should be used when running electronic throttle
i also have the same issue as this guy
i might try up the rpm lockout and see

Bringing up an old thread
I changed my speed settings as per recommended settings for an r32 gtr
Driven and non driven changed to LF wheel speed
also in di3 - LF wheel speed
i changed my pull-up resistor from OFF to ON
And active edge from rising to falling
and on two occasions now with me changing these settings, I can drive around normal ok but when I give it some extra throttle and accelerate fast it literally feels like traction control is kicking in, splutters and I don’t gain much momentum
so I just put it back the original way it was
any idea why changing speed settings would cause this issue
