LeNainCapable
Hello, From what I understand, DI are for switches but also ethanol content sensors. For switches, I can either send 12V in or ground. For Ethanol content sensor, I guess it sends a value but idk exactly which one. is it 1v = 20%, 2v = 40% etc ? Or is it like "010101" at some rate per second and then the ecu interprets it ? Could I wire a dial with some frequencies and then map it to certain functions ? basically 50hz = all assists off 100hz = TC + Launch control 150hz = some other function ? Thank you very much, Best regards, Quentin
dx4picco
As a DI it is looking that the voltage is above or under a give threshold. It's not looking at a voltage value in itself. When it is looking at a frequency, it is checking the number of rising and falling edges. I don't believe that there is such user defined function using frequency. What you could do it wire your rotary switch to a analog one, and define as virtual aux the inputs you want at give voltage values.
Adamw
For a variable frequency or variable duty cycle you can set up the DI as GP Frequency, this will give you then give you Frequency and duty runtimes that you can use to switch a virtual aux or on axes of tables etc.
LeNainCapable
Thank you very much ! That allows for a lot of stuff, pretty cool. I'm not a fan of the airplane type dashboard with all the switches, maybe I'll try doing some kind of little rotating ones with variable voltage and then only allow start for say switch one = 4v and second switch = 6v for antitheft. I have to put more thoughts into that Plus wiring other stuff like boost target or backfires ON/OFF Neat, thanks
