Timboj
Hi guys, any ideas what might be causing this issue? When engaging the cruise control just over 100kph the throttle control was pretty erratic. It almost felt like light misfiring. I checked the log and sure enough the TPS is jumping all over the place: Looks like it absolutely set the VCT off as well.. With cruise off there are no issues to report. Adamw
Cant tell anything from a picture, please attach the log and the tune. Why is the APS moving when cruise control is enabled?
Timboj
Sure. The screenshot is from a 90 min drive, so I took it out again today to see if I could replicate the issue. It didn't show up on the first few times of turning CC on, but you can see it clearly after I switch it on again from about 25:40 on. I don't recall from the previous drive why the APS was moving. I may have been trying to counteract it at the time. It's not present in the most recent log. Adamw
The throttle oscillation isnt from cruise, it looks mostly to be just poor E-throttle PID tuning. I would start by putting the E-throttle integral gain back to our base map setting of 0.07, you may even be able to go back as far as 0.05, I have never seen any throttle want as much as the 0.20 that you have it set to now so I suspect that is the main issue. The cruise PID looks like it needs a bit of tuning also, it is not really causing any issue in that log but you can see it is making the throttle target quite noisy which will make it use more fuel than normal as accel fuel will be working much more than normal. Drop the cruise control Integral gain down to 0.02 and the derivative down to 1.0 should tidy it up a bit. k fuku
Timboj
Thanks Adam. I'll give that a shot. I haven't touched the throttle PID so it may have been the tuner.
Timboj
Okay those settings seem to have worked, Adam. The log certainly looks smoother and it wasn't really noticeable while driving. It might be the placebo affect, but I found shifting (in terms of changing gears and re-engaging the throttle) felt a touch more precise. k fuku
