Ethanol sensor setup and wiring

Hello all. I have an Infiniti G35 and I was thinking of sharing my ethanol sensor 12V line with my boost solenoid 12V line. Would that be ok or is it a bad idea and may cause some interference?

Also, how do I set the ethanol parameters in G4X?

That should be fine.  For the ethanol sensor just go to >digital inputs>Ethanol sensor, assign the source , ensure the pull-up is on and the active edge is rising.  You will then have working ethanol % and temperature.  From there the whole fuel model will have to be set up and tuned if the intent of the sensor is flex fuel functionality.

sorry to bring this up again. but after setting up the ethanol sensor in the ecu it shows active but reading above 86 percent ethanol when the tank is full of 94 octane. could it be a faulty sensor?

It was reading 8% when you last saved your map, this matches the frequency showing on DI6 at the time and seems realistic for pump gas in many regions.

Possibly you were looking at it during the lockout period when it will use the value that was saved at the last power down?

I feel stupid now, I've been reading the wrong value this whole time thinking somethin was wrong. 8-10 percent is the normal for our 94. Thanks for looking it over and sorry for wasting your time
