Mgtezza
Just wondering if the ecu still needs to be sent back to link to get the updates to get the fuel guage working properly? RegardsMatt
Scott
Yes the ECU needs to be returned to us. The update is not applied to the main ECU processor, so can not be updated through the normal ECU firmware updater.Scott
Mgtezza
Ok thanks for that there isn't anyone in Aus that can do it either i am guessing? Might be a summer job so I can be without the car for a few weeks.
Scott
The ECU would need to come to us in Christchurch, New Zealand. Normally once we receive an ECU we can have it on it's way back after a day or two. However sometimes customs can hold up the package on the way in or way back.Scott. Mgtezza
Thought that might be the case haha usually takes 6 days for stuff to get to me from Auckland so would expect 2 weeks there and back will get it sent off in summer so I can ride the bike to work isn't a huge issue atm just thought I would see how to go about getting it fixed. Roderickh
With the current G4+ PnP for sale for Altezzas, has this issue been resolved?

Mgtezza
I read that the ecu needs to be tuned in modeled fuel setup correct? I'm about to go and get mine tuned should I get it tuned that way so that when I am able to send it back I won't have to re tune it?
Simon
Yes it requires the tune to be in Modeled mode as for some reason Toyota use instantaneous fuel consumption to operate the fuel gauge. So best bet is to tune this way from the start.
