Hello

I know it's not a best solution to use mac book for tuning cars but anyway maybe you have an idea how to help :)

I'm using windows 10 on parallels and G4+ works great without a problem, but I can't use it with g4x. Once I was able to connect  g4x ECU to windows site but it didn't see any coms port connected in windows device manager same in G4x PC Link. older softwares like link/vipec working without a problem. any advices are welcome. Today I took my friend mac and he is using windows 8 and it connected without a problem and worked fine.

Thanks in advance, Peter

The G4X uses a FTDI based virtual com port Vs the G4+ used a Silabs CP220X.  You may have to research what is required to get the FTDI driver to install on the mac hardware.

Today, I installed Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro 2016 with BootCamp, and also installed PC LINK and FTDI drivers.

However, I get a code 43 error and the ECU is not recognized.
Has anyone been able to solve this problem?

just get a cheap windows laptop dedicated for tuning. easiest solution.

Of course I know that, and I have a Windows notebook.

But it's easier for me if I can do it on my Mac, so I'm giving it a try.

I use Mac too, the only windows PC I have is the notebook for my car.

i use Parallel to run Windows on my Mac to use PC Link to review log files and make adjustments.

I also got Parallels yesterday and am running Windows on my Mac.

But it doesn't recognize the ECU well, so I'm thinking of using it to look at the log files and make adjustments as you did.

Even if PC Link works in Parallels, it's still a VM environment with emulated ports. I wouldn't trust it much to use it for live tuning.

for log files and map editing it's perfectly fine.
