Sterling
I bought this Bosch sensor to read oil temp and pressure from the port on my motor. In the specifications tab they call out a pull up resistor for the temp signal. I also ordered a pull up resistor from the same vendor. Issue is, I’ve never had to wire a pull up resistor and I’m not sure how to set it up properly. Can anyone explain how to wire the pull up resistor inline correctly? Use basic terms, pretend I know nothing, lol https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/129_143/products_id/4693?osCsid=p5ma7ug923r4mvad9mn5sv82n6
Adamw
You do not need one, the ECU temp inputs have a 1Kohm pull-up built in. The 1 kohm will actually give you better resolution than the bosch recommended 4.7k or whatever it is at the normal temperatures you are interested in. Sterling
This is great news, makes life much easier. Run the temp signal to a temp input and I’m good. Thanks Adam!
Guido
+5v from ECU | wire Pull Up resistor | wire ----wire--------> 5V Analog input on ECU | wire Sensor | wire GND from ECU (ONLY use GND directly from ECU Gsab
