  1. The S54 is a bit tricky to calibrate due to the linkages between the throttle motor and the throttle body. You cant use the automatic becuase of this. The way I do it: Main TPS should be the one on the throttle body. first with the motor not running, start logging in Pclink and just push the throttle body to full open. That way you get both max and min voltages for the both TPS. Input these voltages manually in the settings. Now you can start the engine but leave the E-trhottle in Setup mode. The main TPS (on the throttle body) will be ok now, but to get the correct voltage for the Sub tps (on the motor) You must give full throttle with the e-throttle and read out what the voltages are now. And on idle as well for the closed voltage. Input these in the setting and it should work i normal mode also. Here is a pic of my PID settings. I have 2 or 3 springs installed.
  2. Hi. You should post a copy of your Map also.
  3. Stock BMW dme (Main engine) relay are hot powerd on relay coil.
  4. Here is a diagram showing how it should be.
  5. Exhaust cam, from memory I think it was left side.
  6. Here is a base with VVT. 8 vvt oki.pclr
  7. When you are on the g2/g3 software/firmware the edge for ignition is opposite to the newer versions (g4 / g4+). That is why falling is correct on the g2/g3. It is "dwell edge" on the g2/g3 vs "Spark Edge" on g4/g4+
  8. I have experienced the same issue also, Monsoon, with KMS wideband and KMS dash connected. It was 50/50 if the wideband and dash would work. When I disconnected the wideband during powerup it would work after plugging that in again.
  9. Same pattern on the s85 also. 60-2 crank and 6 teeth on the camshafts.
  10. Did you measure between sensor ground and 5v? or just ground on the car?
  11. The s65 engine only uses 4 solenoids (s62 use 8). The Vanos is the same as the S85 V10 engine so that is supported.
  12. No problem. ☺ Set error low to 0,05 and high to 4,95. Then it will show your error value if the sensor fails.
  13. Are the fault settings correct?
  14. The m52 with Siemens ecus has a "special" frequency output camshaft sensor that is not compatible with aftermarket ecus. Change it to a Hall sensor from M50 vanos.
  15. Had a quick look and and it seems ok, But your map sensor must be faulty, it shows 116kpa with the engine off. You should also upload a log of the engine running/stopping, much easier to troubleshoot then. Eivind
  16. @Adamw The s65b40 is the engine from the E90 M3, this engine has 4 solenoids (v8 engine). The s60b50 from the M5 e39 has 8 solenoids. The vanos control shal be ok with the S85 v10 setting but I dont know of direct solution for the DBW and iacv. The most common approach is to modify the DBW and replace the iacv valves.
  17. Hi. I already tested that, and it just showed the same temp all the time (belive it was 139c) . The signal is only 5hz so maybe out of the "range" of the ethanol sensor?
  18. Hi is it possible to add Duty cycle measurement on the Digital input? I have a problem with controlling the AC on a BMW e39, the request signal is a signal with changing duty to show what the AC/heater wants. The s38b36 (e34 m5) does not have E-throttle so the Storm is a good choice. You also need to replace the stock TPS. The stock triggerwheel/sensor (60-2) is okay to use. You also need to install a camshaft sensor if you wat to go sequential. You can use the parts from the s38b38 for camsensor install.
  20. the Bmw s54 uses aux1-4 on the Vanos (vvt) solenoids.
  21. This is one option, with this setup you just use one aux output:
  22. I have wired a Thunder into a e46 with m52tub, (made PnP adapter: https://www.facebook.com/289577384506124/photos/pb.289577384506124.-2207520000.1484917732./774749935988864/?type=3&theater ) this is almost the same engine as m54, dual vanos and DBW. The "mini" canbus mode works for the dash and AC/climate. But you get error on the DSC/ASC, From what I read on some forums we should be able to "fool" DSC into working also but I have not got around to it. Is quite time consuming to figure out Canbus. Have not tried to find the cruise control buttons in the canbus yet either, but that should be possible also. Warning lights I am not sure about in the Mini mode, but these can be controlled over the canbus in user mode. The reason for using the Tunder was because the owner wanted to monitor lot of stuff.
  23. Are there still Marine versions available of all ecu models?
  24. Adamw: Have tried in steps up to 2v (also 1v) arming but no luck. Also tried with rising edge on trigger 2 - no change. Most of my testing has been without sync on trigger 2. (no fuel connected). Want stable trigger 1 before adding the sync. Without plugs this engine cranks like240rpm. The starter sounds okay, and doesent look that old, but maybe you are correct that the cranking rpm should have been higher. I will do some measuring on voltage drop too the starter. The owner has not given me the complete spec list yet but, it is a turbo engine so not very high compression ratio. It is a 1170cc engine. And like you say it is not an easy task to change/modify the trigger wheel. I have a Vipec V88 lying around, will try with that. Eivind
