Gear Detection- User defined

Simplest way is to go for a quick 2 minute drive, with logging enabled, and work through every gear and back to a stop.

Then look at the Gear Calc parameter, you'll see the distinct unique values.

I probably should've just started with that but was curious how it was calculated. The guidance isn't super explicit that the calculated ratio is a byproduct of transmission gear ratio, final drive and tyre size (although they all make sense).

Normalising against 5th gear, which for the CD009 is 1:1, actually came out to be pretty close to the calculated vs actual gear ratios so it all worked out.

Hi guys, I assume it's something I've done but the fix isn't jumping out at me..

Gear detection was working great:

And then it's disappeared from the log ever since?

I'm pretty sure the only thing I changed after calibration was to normalise to 5th (which is the 1:1 ratio),

I went through this setup on my EP3 motor/gearbox which has similar-ish ratios published. I initially tried the user-entered ratio per what I could find, but they didn't work so I  decided to see what numbers the calibrated mode gave me. the 1/2/3/4/5/6 ratio on my car ended up at 212, 138, 100, 76, 60, 48 , indicating that I'd never factored in the Final Drive (stock 4.764 on my car) and really didn't know what the relationship between tyre size and the speed was either.

Given there's no place to put in the FD in this setup, You'd have to factor that in as well, even in the normalization mode. Sure 5 is 1:1 but it's really 1:1:FD

As the others have suggested the ecu-calibrated mode seems easier than doing the math, it takes about three minutes to do on a quiet straight road, with a 15 second stop - and selecting but not hitting enter on the next gear to calibrate (until it is in the correct gear). Be interested to see what numbers you get.
