Simon
One side of the solenoid will need a key switched power and the other side is to a free Aux out on the ECU.
Simon
No the feed needs to come from say the same feed as for the injectors or coils.
tim bendall
i also have another wiring query i have twin 0580 bosch fuel pumps surge tank etc and a walbro as my lifter how do i wire the walbro in so it primes the surge tank then the bosch pumps kick in when i start the car up? tim
Simon
Only way to have a delay on the main pumps will be to drive them using a GP output and have a timer based delay triggered from the lift pump drive. However it is more normal to activate all pumps off the one fuel pump drive at the same time.

Adamw
1 hour ago, tem said: why don’t i have power at the vct plug? The ECU only supplies the ground side, the +12V side comes from elsewhere in the car, most likely originally from the ignition switch or ECCS relay. You will have to find a wiring diagram that matches your model if you want to troubleshoot the existing wire. tem
rrob
Blue wire/white trace is +. Comes in via the connector near the ecu, also powers idle control and narrow band 02. tem
tem
cheers guys. i have run the ground to one of the aux outs on the g3 and can i just run a 12v wire to the + wire? as the existing wire is dead. thanks once again
Adamw
It will need to be an ignition switched +12V source. tem
tem
can i just run a wire from the alternator as it’s real close to vct plug or tap into the 12v cas wire which is also close
