  1. Yep it will apply to the I series as well. You can use the 3D mode then set one of the Axis options to none. Effectively giving a 2D table.
  2. The ultimate would be. A cam sensor hall effect that is looking at a very wide tooth a 180deg tooth is ideal. On the Crank then have 12 teeth with one removed (11 remaining teeth) The missing tooth needs to be clear of either edge of the cam signal.
  3. If you can post you map that would be great as we can check this on the bench relatively easy. But as the load will have changed you will have moved to a slightly different area of the MAP and you might require some adjustment of the map to compensate.

    IQ3 vs i88

Yep the the Link module will work with the Vi-pec happily. The Link has predefined channels that can be displayed, If you want to add additional channels to be displayed you would need to check the IQ3 will support this.
  5. Hi Mike All can be done through the PC tuning software. I would not recommend doing a firmware upgrade unless you have the knowledge to check all settings including fuel and ignition figures. I would suggest leaving this to the tuner. The help file in the PC tuning software will cover most set up questions. This can be down loaded from here http://www.linkecu.com/support/downloads/pclink-download/pclink-g4-v4-9-9.1784# Â

    bmw v88 help

Would be great if you could post your map and even better if you could take a PC log of all parameters at the time as well. As a starting point I would be looking for any limits or reasons for the ECU to want to cut or limit the RPM.
  7. Hi Jozef I don't have any known issues with the LS configuration. The coils do have two grounds one is a signal ground the other a power ground both will need to be grounded. The signal ground can be connected to the ECU sensor ground but the power ground should be to the block. To dig deeper we will need to get a scope on to the cam sync signal and a second channel on to ignition one output. When the timing is locked these should not move relative to each other. If they do not move then we are looking at something in the coils.
  8. The AFR reading will change as it is the average across all cylinders (assuming only one wideband input) AFR corrections the ECU does, are to the main table so are a global correction across all cylinders. One thing to keep in mind is the ignition timing can also have a big impact on the exhaust temp as well. There is no calculation method that I know of to work out the correction required. Some of the tuners out there will likely have more info on this.
  9. We don't but I know our dealers do. One example is NZEFi here in Christchurch.
  10. Hi Steve The 1UZ uses a 6 terminal stepper motor for the idle control, there is no way to reduce the number of control lines required. It could be an option to fit a 2 wire solenoid and do away with the stepper motor.
  11. Hi Declan The G4+ currently misses out on this but the Vi-pec range can support this as the CAN data is user definable. Â For you Dan we have it in the wish list. Â
  12. You will need to wire the CAN L and H of the ECU to a OBD bluetooth adapter which is suitable for your phone. You will need a matching App to use the information and display it.
  13. My best guess is there are some pinout differences on the forester. It could be as simple as the fuel pump control being on the fan output. One option is to use the test function for each Aux output and manually test what each drive turns on. Or if you have access to a pinout for the Forrester we can check the configuration.
  14. Hi Ben I will flick you an email with a contact that will be able to help out. He has a much better tuning back ground. Â Â
  15. Hi If I'm reading this correctly you have two sensors. One that looks at the flywheel and this has 136 teeth and these are the ring gear teeth? The other is a single tooth on the cam? Are there any other triggers on the crank? The 136 teeth on the crank is a problem and if possible an alternative would be better.
  16. Can you get a couple of screen shots from the help menu. One of the ECU information and one of the About information.
  17. No need to change the tables or trims while doing the set up. As while you are in this window they are all locked out. But once you click done they will become active again and you then tune to the figures you want / need.
  18. Have you cleared the errors? You will need to clear them, and then make sure they don't reoccur.
  19. The G1 EVO plugins are only able to be tuned with the Hand control, there is no PC tuning software available for this unit.

  21. It indicates that at some point you voltage to the volt 2 input has reached a value below the error setting. This would happen if a sensor was unplugged such as a TPS input. Depending on ECU configuration will depend on the sensor effected.
  22. When you are in the setting panel it removes any timing that ECU is using from the main tables and any trims. Once set and you close the setup window the timing will then change to whatever is in the main ignition table + any trims such as IAT ignition trim.
  23. Is the setting changing if you turn the power off to the ECU?
