  1. Yes the MAP limit tables will completely swap depending on the state of your activation input (it should be set as your same virtual aux that you use to switch your fuel table in your case).  If you dont believe this is working correctly for you then you can post a .pcl and log here or email it to tech support via our contact us page and I will take a look at it for you.

  2. If it was connected to an injector driver then using fuel cut would be fine, but Definately do not use fuel cut if your auxilary injection is controlled using a GP PWM signal.

An aux output signal is a relatively low priority output and is not scheduled or timed to any engine cycle event.  That means it is likely when injectors are cut there will be some engine cycles that will continue to get a partial fuel dose from the auxiliary injection. How many cycles will depend on RPM and other variables but I suspect at high RPM it could be significant.  I strongly advise this is a bad idea.

  3. Hi Martin,

It sounds like you might have stumbled upon a bug.  I will have a play on the Simulator to confirm when I get a chance but it will probably next week.

As for the LTC dash we send out MicroTech's "Automotive CAN protocol V2.0".  According to their data sheet, these are the only channels within that stream:

So although the G4+ is capable of sending out a custom stream with EGT included that is pointless if the dash is not capable of receiving a custom stream.  You will have to direct your stream improvement request to MicroTech.  Another option is I see they do also sell a CAN-EGT module that is meant to work with the dash but there is no published info about the CAN protocol it uses - so if you can find out that info then we can probably send EGT data to your dash by duplicating their CAN EGT device message.

  4. If using traditional fuel equation mode then using CTC will usually give a more accurate/consistent tune over a wider range of operating conditions.  The downside is it is more difficult to correctly tune the CTC table.  Usually the best way to tune it is on a dyno & while keeping water temp relatively constant, you vary the air temp.  You can usually do this just with simple ducting etc so that the intake temporarily sucks hot air from say behind the radiator or off exhaust manifold etc.

If CTC is turned off then you will use the IAT correction table to do most of the correction.

  5. Hi Joe, I can give you some direction.  The first thing we need to know is what type of trigger you have - number of teeth, type of sensor etc.  a photo if you're not sure.

next we need to know about the rest of the ignition system, coils, igniters etc.

That should be most of what is needed to get the basics setup.

  6. Ok, I see your problem.  It was probably due to mine and Simon's conflicting advice above (i think it was before my morning coffee).  You need multitooth mode for the 6 tooth pulley.  Set up like example below.  Note you will have to set base timing again after making this change.

  7. If I am not already a "+1" for this in another thread you should also consider me another interested person. Interested in 4D and overlay.

Hi CamB, we have this feature request all lumped together with your 4D/5D/overlay traction control request since they will be similar to implement.  So yes your +1 is already counted...

  8. Hi Plox, I think we might be able to do it with a combination of the functions that are already available.  Can you tell me the conditions/inputs that you want to control the pump and also what actions you want the ecu to take when the pump is on and flow sensor reads lower than expected. I will see if I can dream up a way to achieve it.

Also, what is the output signal type and range for the flow sensor.

  9. 3. To be able to use fuel cut rev limit with staged injection, rather than primaries cut and secondary keeps on going. Using an ignition cut instead isnt good for my wideband or arguably for the longevity of my mufflers either.

    Hi David,

Can you elaborate more on this statement.  I just tried myself on the test bench and fuel cut on the secondaries seems to work as expected.

  10. I still dont think you have provided enough info about your setup.  It sounds like fuel cut might be a bad idea for you but we need more info.  Are your methanol "nozzles" actually normal injectors or are you talking about a water/meth type nozzle?  If they are in fact injectors, then what injection mode are you using - sequential/staged or sequential/auxiliary?

  11. Hi Guys,

We already have some data on the VQ37VHR and our engineering team has stated from their initial look that they appear to be the same.  One problem we will have with this engine is according to Daniels data the exhaust cam can move 80 degrees, but we are limited (by hardware) to a maximum of 70 degrees.  So we are never going to be able to give you more than 70 degrees retard from its home position.  I suspect it probably only had that much movement to allow some sort of EGR or emissions strategy so in my mind this shouldnt be a big deal to most performance users.

  12. Hi Llewellyn,

I have just had a play with this function myself and can see what you mean...  When the dead time table is set to "3D" in the injector setup screen it only changes the primary table to 3D, whereas the secondary table remains as fixed a 2D table.  I dont think this is the expected behavior so let me check with engineering tomorrow.

I have had confirmation from Engineering this morning that this was an oversight and we will fix it.  Hopefully for the next release.

My "wish list" for staged injection would be:

    1. Be able to set injection timing seperately to primary injectors (optimum point is quite different between primary and secondary)

    2. IAT trims etc to apply to the secondary injectors, as mine uses 95% outboard injectors with higher rpm. (Theres an existing thread about this)

    3. To be able to use fuel cut rev limit with staged injection, rather than primaries cut and secondary keeps on going. Using an ignition cut instead isnt good for my wideband or arguably for the longevity of my mufflers either.

    4. Currently it's set so if you have an RPM based staging table, there is still a minimum RPM at which staged injection will engage (which is now a redundancy) it would be nice if you could set this to a minimum throttle position or minimum MAP signal instead:

    5. It would be nice to be able to setup the Sec PW Lockout right down to 0ms, (rather than 0.6ms currently) so if I set it to use 100% staged injection I know that I'm using outer injectors all of the time. This would be useful for initial configuration because even if you've got accurate injector info, the different injector placement can cause it to behave differently so you really need to test "in car" to set the primary/secondary ratio etc in a way that represents how it will actually work.So isolating entirely to outer injectors would be useful here I think, as well as troubleshooting for individual injector issues.

    Hi DavidV,

I see most of your suggestions above are already on our request list.  They are relatively low priority for now though and not being worked on yet.

  13. keep it here is good.  For new features especially if more users post they want the same feature then it puts more weight on the request.

As for the 3d secondary deadtime.  Can you elaborate a little on why you would you need that?  While I totally agree that it should be there and working -  I can only think of a few odd ball scenarios where it would really be needed on secondary injectors so that's possibly why it hasnt been raised earlier.
