GP Speed - DI 1 - Why cant i change to MPH

I have setup a digital gauge for GP Speed on DI 1 and it comes up as KPH no matter what my unit settings are for both imperial and metric. Any ideas how to fix it so it displays MPH?

If you set the input as a wheel speed and then display the wheel speed from the chassis body menu. 

It will then change from kph to mph based on the unit settings

Is there a reason GP Speed cannot be displayed in MPH??  I want to use all four wheel speed sensors for other reasons, and I want to use the GP Speed parameter for displaying the speed from my VSS on my manual transmission, displaying them all in MPH.  Can this be accomplished?

Unfortunately in G4+ the unit conversion doesnt get applied to the GP speed channels due to the way the calibration works in the background on these channels.
