    BLOCKED??

Anyone know why i may have been blocked while replying to a topic? Might have been because i tried to add pictures with a google drive link. How do i resolve?? Thanks
  2. Hey thanks for the input, Thats a good thought ill give that a try and see if it seems better. if it is, i dont mind a manual connection each time.
  3. i never disconnect anything when this happens. its just a key off for a couple seconds then key back on and nothing. another key cycle and it is better. I havent tried disconnecting the usb between cycles. Iv noticed this randomly when the laptop isnt plugged in though also. like if i get gas,, come back and key on sometimes nothing until a key cycle has gone through..
  4. Hey all, Link G4X PnP user here with a 2006 EVO 9. Wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue. If I flash a new map and save, then perform a key cycle, sometimes the ecu does not communicate. The cooling fans will turn on and run but the fuel pump will not prime and the ecu will not connect. If I perform another key cycle the ecu will usually connect and everything is fine. Sometimes this will take two or three key cycles to work but often just once will do it. I am on the most current version of PCLink as well as Firmware. I check often to see if there any recent updates and havent seen anything yet. Has anyone else delt with this issue and is there a fix for it? Thanks for any info!
  5. 25A should be fine for the walbro450pumps. Gotta remember though that if both pump are at their full flow, its going to be a 40A draw on the electrical system. So just make sure the battery and alternator output is capable of supplying the amperage needed to operate your total system and you will be good.
  6. Hey here is a good link and some nice info on these pumps. you should find some answers here. Blog Post Radium's Ultimate Fuel Pump Test (radiumauto.com)
  7. Hey I dont believe the idle target rpm table is used when setting up open loop idle. If you would like the table to be available then it has to be set up in closed loop. Hope that helps. Both ways can achieve a good stable idle depending on how the car is acting, the closed loop strategy is a bit more in depth but can control idle a little better when set up properly.
  8. Hey all this is kind of unrelated to Link or engine tuning, but does anyone on here have any experience with tuning or reflashing the evo 9 ACD ecu? I have a USDM evo 9 and im setting up for some autocross this year. I do all of my own tuning but i have never touched the acd unit. I have done plenty of reading on it and have some maps from other people who have done this but i just wantedto check here and see if anyone has any useful info or maps they would like to share. Thanks!!

    Logging Question.

Hey all Link G4x PnP user for my 06 Evo 9. Im setting the vehicle up well so far but i had a question regarding logging, and not soo much the G4x. While the evo 9 has ACD, am I able to log the acd ecu through the OBD2 port at the same time I am logging the engine side with the G4x or will there be a conflict of interest there? Im prepping for autocross in the next month or so and id like the ability to log the ACD as well but I just didnt know if this would be something that works or just doesnt. Please let me know if anyone has input on this thankyou!
  11. Thanks Adam I will give this a try! Hey I dont have any experience with this feature in my vehicle as of yet but I have driven other vehicles where this is functional. The benefit would be better, softer full throttle shifting. This feature can allow no lift type shifting and lessen the stress on the driveline when an aggressive shift is applied. This feature can also make the vehicle actually going into gear a lot easier because it will reduce the engine torque at that shift moment so that everything is happy. Its a very useful feature, moreso for the sequential/dogbox trans systems with strain gauges but it does function and add a benefit to normal synchro H pattern transmissions as well..
  12. Hey all Linkk G4x PnP user here. I have a couple simple questions regarding gear shift set up in my USDM evo 9. I plan on setting up gear shift control into my car and im going to wire in my clutch switch as a digital input to the ecu. Last time I checked im not sure if i was able to see the clutch switch status switch from active to non active as i pressed the clutch. This may be simple error on my part not looking at the correct status indicator or simply not choosing or configuring this properly. Either way to be sure,, Are the clutch switches already inputs to the link g4x PnP units or are the clutch switches something that need to be wired into inputs? Easy enough to do i just want to be sure they do not already exist before i wire something. Also next question, When setting up the gear shift control, As this is working, does the ecu want to see top clutch switch input or bottom clutch input. I assume it wants to see the top clutch switch as the peddle leaves resting position so it can implement the gear shift control as the clutch releases from the flywheel. This makes the most sense to me but i want to make sure it doesnt want to see peddle to the floor and clutch already released before it implements its gear shift function. Please let me know and thanks to all who contribute to this forum, It has been extremely helpful!
  13. Hey thanks for the input, yes it would be different boost levels for the same fuel. I wasnt sure if different boost on a rotary switch could referance once tuned individual map or if each rotary position needed its own copied dedicted fuel/timing tables. But if all will work referencing one map then that makes work easier. My main goal is to set up a rotary switch with different boost levels such as 20psi/25psi/30psi. thats a difference from about 450whp-700whp in my vehicle, but say position 1 equals low boost, position 2 is medium and so on. Thanks for the input that has answered some questions..
  14. Hey all G4x Evo 9 PnP unit here. I just wanna make sure my thought process is seemingly correct. Iv searched this and im sure the answers are out there somewhere but id rather not do so much digging. If I want to run multiple calibrations and have them on a switch such as a low boost cal and a high boost cal, the proper way to do this would be to run the switch as an input and then run multiple boost/fuel/ignition tables that pull up only when the switch is activated correct. Or does this multi cal system need to be configured in virtual configuration to only run the higher boost maps when the correct conditions are met such as the switch being activated? I can do either, just looking for info on how others are doing the same thing and if there is a better/correct/incorrect way to do this. Thanks for any input!
  15. This is great to know! Thankyou!
  16. Hey Adam, thanks for the information, thats a bit more in depth and understandable. The car has ran great no issues and i dont think the difference in ethanol content has caused the tune to be out really. If it is running slighty rich or lean its only slightly and the corrections adjust to where its not noticed. I plan on setting up multi fuel in the near future and was the reason i installed the ethanol sensor. As of now everything seems great so im just gonne leave it. Thanks again for the information.
  17. Hey thanks again for the input. My car is SD and tuned on one fuel only so non multi fuel just modelled fuel equation on summer blend e85. My stoich value in the fuel setup is 9.8:1 for e85. Just wondering if i need to make this value more like 10.9:1 to reflect e66. vehicle runs well as is no issues but if the stoich value should reflect the E content than i want to correct the fuel setup so that everything stays best as possible.. Thanks again for the input.
  18. Thats all the info i needed, thanks for the confirmation!
  19. Another quick question about programming outputs. I have added an expansion harness to my PnP G4x for evo 9. I have all of the added inputs/outputs used except for an AN Temp4. Does this need to be used as a temp input or can this be repurposed as any input or output? Thanks for any input.
  20. Hey all, Quick question about ethanol content and stoich. When i last tuned my car it was on summer blend about 83-85% from our local pumps and regularly tested to be pretty consistent at that percentage. I recently installed an ethanol content sensor in the car and its reading the winter blend at 66% currently which seems correct. Now with the winter blend being at 66% should i change my Stoich values in my fuel setup to reflect the e66 or leave the values at what they were when i tuned last on summer e85? Thanks for any help or input..
  21. Hey I had the uploading issue a while back. Seems like what most people do is save your logs and files into a google drive or something similar and then share the link to those files so anyone who has the link can view them. then you dont have to upload anything to the forum. Hope that helps. Its actually fairly easy to set up your 2step launch and rolling launch control if you have a decent driving map already.
  22. Just to add a little "make you feel better" info. Working in lambda is a learning curve if you are used to a normal AFR reading. .75 to .80 lambda are perfect AFR values for gasoline and E85. the difference between your .75 and .80 lambda are only 11.2 and 11.75 AFR on the gas scale and 7.3 and 7.8 AFR on the E85 scale. Anywhere within these areas is considered best safe for power afr.
