Dave: Very plausible theory, But never had an issue with G4

That's because G4 PCLink doesn't pop up to tell you it wasn't able to save a file, it tells you implicitly by not displaying the "File saved successfully" message, then it just loses the changes you made. Better reporting was one of the improvements we made to G4+ PCLink, handy huh?

I don't know how google decide when to access your files for syncing, but in your example above I think you just got lucky.

  2. Looks like your google drive is locking the file while it syncs. It's accessing the file to parse it, upload it to the cloud, analyze it for government secrets or something. Once it's finished doing whatever it should free the file to be saved, because basemaps are so small (172KB) I would expect it to do this fairly quickly, unless your internet connection is really really slow. If it's not freeing the file when it's finished with it, then it's a bug for google.

While we're at it, does anyone have better experience with other cloud services? microsoft, dropbox, mega, amazon, etc?

OK guys sorry for not responding to your questions! Yes Timmy I also have that same issue with the escape window going crazy but didn't mention it since I didn't think it was that big of a deal.

Glad you have the same issue though.

To answer the frequency question I can't tell since no ecu...customer didn't show up.

    Here is a screenshot.

So, it seems to me that loading up the AFR/Lambda Target Table (1 or 2) seems to break the 3d view. There may be other tables that do it too.

I've added it as a bug, I don't have a work around, solution or ETA yet.

Just to chime in, I have an Asus GL552V laptop and have a slightly different graphics issues, I will attach a screen dump.  It's more an annoyance than a show stopper. I tried the latest graphics drivers a while ago and it made no improvement.  I never got to the bottom of this problem, hoping that sooner or later a driver update would fix it!

Yeah that one's a known issue thanks.

  5. Sounds like something about your OpenGL is upset.

When you're connected to the ECU, what frequency do you get in the top right hand corner?

And, can you attempt to open the 3D view, then go Help > About and grab a screenshot of the window?

I'm looking for your PCLink version information and the version of OpenGL.

    Thanks

  6. Is this Surface specific?  I actually run the PCLink software on my MacBook Pro in a virtual machine using Parallels with Windows 10 64bit, forcing my onboard NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.  Is there something I should be looking out for?

The issue that ztoy is having will be related to only the surface.

Are you having issues as well?

  7. Oh no, someone finally broke my surface view.

    Can you go:

    1. Start
    2. type dxdiag
    3. hit enter (run it)
    4. when the wee green bar is finished, hit "Save all Information..."
    5. email the DxDiag.txt file to [email protected]

Could you also go here: http://glew.sourceforge.net/index.html,

    1. Click on "Windows 32-bit and 64-bit" next to Binaries.
    2. Download
    3. Extract
    4. Navigate to "glew-2.1.0\bin\Release"
    5. If you're on 64 bit windows go to the x64 folder, otherwise go to the Win32 folder.
    6. Run glewinfo.exe, it will generate a txt file in the same folder.
    7. Email that txt file to tech also.

  8. on the subject of code and pclink, are there any plans to port pclink with the desktop bridge to the windows store?  Seems straightforward enough and it would allow people to use PClink on all the new/cheap devices about to be released with windows 10S

Not at this stage, I have my hands full with PCLink as it is.

Considering you can pick up a Windows 10 Pro/Home tablet for $350-$400 a Windows 10S tablet will have to be pretty darn cheap.

I'll take a look into it and talk to the boss.

  9. Hi Troy, cool stuff, you should chuck up a post in the project cars section.

Tracking changes within PCLink is on my list of future features, I geeked out about that idea a few months ago.

And I can't give you source code sorry.

I've added your name to the track changes feature request too.

    Cheers

  10. I'm getting the same behavior, make a new XY Plot and it works great, it works even if I set it up exactly the same as the broken one.
Also, interestingly, if I copy-pasta the 'broken' XY Plot, the new one is also broken, which would suggest an XY Plot setting is upset somewhere (like the X axis range)

I've added it to the list to be investigated, thanks for your patience.

  11. Hi Dave can you please have a look at the FP speed DC% during logging. Not sure if its normal but when you change the multiplier in the fuel pump control tab the FP speed DC% during logging does not match the duty cycle in the FP speed table. Im using a NZEFI hardware PWM fuel Controller and they are the settings with the instructions.

Everything seems to be working here, 100% in the table, Multiplier set to 0.5 I get FP Speed 50% which is expected.

Obviously you wont be able to get over 50% as your Max DC Clamp is set to 50%.

Would you like to fire a basemap through to [email protected]?

  12. Hi guys,

We've done a wee release to fix a few of the pressing firmware issues.

PCLink hasn't changed so the release notes below will be for the previous release.

    PCLink Version 5.x.x.3338 (DLL Rev 3260) – 15-02-17

    Fixes

    • Fixed bug where users updating from 5.6.2 to 5.6.5 were required to enter a factory unlock code.

    G4+ Firmware Version 5.6.5.3389 - 18-04-17

    Changes

    • Add CAN frames to Audi TT mode to support later models.

    Fixes

    • DI 3 & 4 pullups now remain enabled after power cycle on Monsoon.
    • VVT PID gains no longer lost on power cycle when PID Setup is set to Custom.
    • Fixed Overrun Fuel Cut going to 100% duty cycle in Multipoint Group Mode (broken since 5.6.5.3303).
    • Injection pulse no longer goes to zero if overlay fuel table is activated.
    • Staged injection now fires secondary injectors when sequential primaries and group secondaries are selected.
    • GDI HPFP no starts pumping when under pressure fault exists (broken since 5.6.5.3303).

As always, here's how to update your firmware the best way:

Post here if you find any issues.
  13. So you were working on your mini computer, had everything set up, you saved your layout.

You came back some time later and the mini computer was turned off?

Did you close PCLink after you saved your layout? or did the computer shut down with PCLink running?

Can you please post the layout that does not work?

  14. When PCLink first starts up, before you change the connection option, in the top right hand corner, does PCLink display an orange box with "Searching"?

    If it does not:

    1. Go to Options > Connection
    2. Set "Connection Mode" to "Auto"
    3. Press Ok
    4. Go to File > Exit
    5. Open PCLink manually

You should be able to cycle the power to the PC and PCLink will auto connect.

Post back here with your result.
