    map sensor

Hi Try to do the firmware upgrade again. Suggest having VTS configured so it is in manual connect mode that way it wont keep trying to connect whilst the firmware update is running. Also if you are using any device on the can/rs232 plug make sure this is unpluged right at the ECU.

Nice engine choice. Would love one of those for my own project. Try to lower the filter levels to level 1 on both triggers. This wont help the coms but might stop the RPM like limit. A firmware upgrade would likely stop the logging problem. Make sure you have the very latest before going too deep with tuning.
  4. Hi Could you post your full PCL (map) file. As there have been a few versions of limiting over different firmware.
  5. Most of the pin functions for a GTS/GTR can be found in the latest PCLink (G4 pclink) help file. You can find this under the section on plugin ecu's then pinouts.
  6. To do multi tooth missing you will need more teeth that what you currently have. (needs to be ideally at least 2 times the number of firing events) If you did make a disc with say 16 teeth and then removed one. That would work.
  7. Hi Gerhard This is something you will need to be live with an ECU to adjust. Once connected you will be able to unlock the drives and use then for other functions.
  8. Breaking the circuit on either wire to the BCS will do the trick.
  9. The short answer is no. To get sequential you need some sort of reference so the ECU knows what TDC it is on. This is normally done with a second sensor. In this case fitting a crank sensor and modifying the existing trigger would be the best option. Having a crank trigger will also give better timing stability.

Can you give me some more info about the engine make, trigger configuration. Noise issues are high energy noise being radiated from the ignition system. This can even be as simple as the coil breaking down and arcing out the side to the block. This will then put alot of electrical noise out and can cause the ECU com problems.
  11. Currently we are unable to. T his is due to the engine needing to be run in wasted spark and the engine being an odd fire. We are working towards this and should be able to offer a solution at some point in the future.
  12. Got the file now have some working out to do.
  13. Chances are nothing just a motor that can pull plenty of vacuum. You can check by watching the map reading. If it gets to I think 12Kpa it will be at ground.
  14. I would suggest starting with 5% in the table and then work up from there. The Boost adjust option is if you are running a trim pot to allow cabin adjustable boost. As a starting point have a look at some of our base maps. The V7 Subaru one would be a good example. It has boost scaled off TPS. The Help file is a very good point of reference also. Simplest way to get 0.7bar would be to switch the solenoid off.

Chances are you have some noise issues. It will get worse the more load on the engine. I assume you are running CDi on wasted spark? Resistive plugs are a must. Leads will also need to be resistive. Wiring layout will be critical also. Avoid trigger wires going near any of the HT. We can supply a serial tuning cable which will help if you have a serial port on the laptop.
  16. Chances are it is older again and will be G1. If you flick me an email [email protected] I should be able to find the correct manual and send it through.
  17. Looking at the ignition system you are using, It is normally triggered off points or from an igniter. You will need to use Rising spark edge if triggering direct from the ECU. You dwell table can be set to a flat 3ms. I also assume the distributor has no mechanical timing (vacuum or RPM based)
  18. Should only happen if you are pulling big vacuum on overrun. This might get the MAP output to ground.
  19. Pin 16 on the GTS/GTR plugin. (so only the one connector)
  20. Hi Quick question are you running the LED's off spare ignition drives? If so swapping to high side driving the LED will likely be a better option.
  21. As long as its a two wire sensor then it will still have the same wiring.
  22. The best thing if possible would be a scope image of the trigger whilst the trigger errors are occurring. However is it a Silver case ECU?
  23. Hi Bruce How you finding all those Aussies? Can you flick me an email with your map and ill have a go at it on the bench to see if we can replicate the problem. [email protected]
  24. Calibration Number = (Number of Sensor Teeth / Wheel Diameter) * 31.83. Note that wheel diameter is in meters (m).
  25. You can ship the ECU back to us and we can bench test and repair as required. Vi-PEC 22 Mowbray St Waltham Christchurch 8023 New Zealand.
