  1. If I was to pick one thing to check would be the spark plugs you are using. They MUST be resistive along with resistive HT leads. The actual unit you have is a MX5 plugin running Flyin Miata firmware. You can find the manual for it here http://forums.linkecu.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=2535 This might not be an exact match due to the custom flyin miata firmware which they developed themselves (we only supplied the hardware) You might find more info over at flyinmiata.com

    I can't remember on these units if the base timing is on top of the table figures. You will need to check this with the timing light. to see if the timing matches the table.
  3. Hi. Yes the ECU will detect both temp and %E and you can configure a display to suit both.
  4. I would suggest the G4+ Storm as the best pick and it is the cheapest option to retain the VVTi. It will also do full sequential fuel and ignition.

    The base timing needs to be set to a nice figure normally 5 or 10 BTC. This figure is then the minimum advance the ECU can run. I think with out modifying the CAS 5 will be about all you can get. Don't worry about what the stock timing is for base. Also make sure you check it from an HT lead between the coil and plug not off the factory timing loop. Not sure why the knock is turning off. It might be a PC link issue. Would need a hand control to test. When knock is functioning it will retard timing but not do any fuel changes. The changes are only short term too so that when the key is cycled it will revert to original map. No Idea on what levels of advance you would expect to be able to run as I have tuned all of 2 engines in my 16 years of tech support. I just know how the functions of the ECU work. Some of the Tuners might advise.

    HI The G1 GTS plugin did not support wideband input it can only accept a 0-1 volt signal (narrowband) Knock is just a case of setting to on and then configuring the base and rate of rise for the noise threshold. For the tuning its one cell at a time. CAM control is a simple on at xxx and off at xxx as you thought. Things have come a long way over the last 20 years, the g1's are a very basic unit.
  7. If limiting on Fuel only the limit will not activate if the Inj DC is over 100%. It is not often an issue as one should never be running an engine with the injectors going over 100%. If this is the case the injectors are too small or there are other fuel supply issues. There is a fix coming.

  9. No change there as the last few release have be purely software. There is a fix coming but it will be a firmware based one.

  11. Hi Phil On the G4+ its easier as you can use the OBD output from the ECU or if you want can also run PClink on a windows tablet with a page set up as a gauge type display.

  13. When you are setting it up. Back the max target back from 100% so that you can see an over shoot if it happens. Other wise the throttle might be wanting to over shoot the target but cant as it is stopped mechanically. Be sure to hit enter after changing the values to have them take effect.
  14. Hi. At the moment there is no way to log the duty cycle directly. Only option is to log the input parameters of the table and then work out the location in the table from those.

  16. Yeah have been a number of small bugs getting fixes. There are a number of things happening in the background that should help with this and notifications of releases.
  17. At the moment its not possible to log the output of a GP PWM table. Only way to work it out would be to log the two input parameters and then manually work out the DC from the table.
  18. Correct if you were to look at the timing with a light you would see a much more retarded ignition figure than what is indicated in the runtimes.

  21. Hi The GTR firmware was never made PC tunable so no PC tunable upgrade available. So you are stuck with the hand control on this one.

  24. Try selecting less than 20 parameters at once. Say do 15 and then another 15. This should work.
