  1. Yes, the Thunder will drive these no woories. Set injection setup to Peak & Hold, 4A peak, 1.5A hold. Deadtimes as below:
  2. For the fan problem there are several auxes that it could be, can you try this test to help isolate which aux is the problem: With ignition on, engine off, set Aux 1 to "test on", then set it to "off", note which fan turns on off. Do the same on/off test with Ign 4, Ign 3 and Inj 5 auxes. Let us know which one controls the AC fan. Try the same on/off test with ign 5 and tell me if the IC spray lamp comes on.
  3. With stock coils it will run with a trigger offset of 0, 360 or -360. 0 should be the most correct (you still need to check with a timing light).
  4. I think you need to check the wiring again. I cant reproduce the "transmit errors" like your screenshot above shows, even if I wire the CAN H/L backwards I only get receive errors. Below Im using a Kiwi 1 and Torque lite set with all the default settings Im using CAN 2 only because I already had an adapter made up.
  5. Those are "dumb coils", they donot have an internal ignitor. Im surprised your car actually runs at all without an ignitor... So you have two options; Fit an external ignitor - something like a Bosch 0 227 100 211 is common for 4 channels. Change to coils with built-in ignitors - something like VAG 06E 905 115 or Nissan R35.
  6. What is the part number of your coils? Most VAG coils have 4 pins. That wiring doesnt sound right. That is correct for an evo.
  7. That opens fine for me. Nothing really different set up in it though but is does have a blank page labelled AE86. So you cant open this same layout if you go to >layout>load layout?
  8. Yes, what do you have connected to each pin on the coils
  9. It should be set on falling and your settings are already correct but I want to know how the coils are wired because if wired wrong that could potentially make them trigger from the wrong side of the dwell edge
  10. That is not a layout, that is a ECU map/tune/calibration. A layout has a .llf extension.
  11. It sounds like the coils are firing on the wrong edge? The trigger offset should usually be close to zero (or 360) on an evo. Can you tell us how the coils are wired.
  12. Can you attach one of these layouts that wont open.
  13. Note I no longer work at Link so I cant do anything if there is actually a bug. I would still be interested to have a look at your log though if you want a second set of eyes to take a look. adamwalmsley(at)gmail(dot)com
  14. I have a couple of maps from NZ V8 SuperTourers that I have worked on but there is a lot of other stuff such as gear shift control set up in them so it probably better to try to troubleshoot what you have first. Can you attach your map and also a short PC log of it cranking. Here is how to do a PC log: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P1LRANeO4A
  15. Can you explain what you mean by this comment? Have you wired an OBD2 socket to the CAN 1 pins on the ECU? Do you have a termination resistor at the OBD2 socket? Have you tried 250K/bit/s and any other OBD2 apps? Have you tried swapping the CAN H/L wires?
  16. When E-throttle is turned on, Aux 4, 9 & 10 all work together to form an H bridge. When E-throttle is turned off the Aux 10 pin is controlled by the Aux 9 controls in the software (the physical aux 9 pin is not usable for anything but E-throttle). You cant do PWM on Aux 9 anyhow so this in not much use to you. How about moving the intercooler sprayer wire off Aux 2 and connect it to one of the spare auxes/ign auxes, this will free up aux 2 for the FP speed.

    Knock Sensor

The 96+ ecu has the factory sensor connected, I have never used the factory sensor but it will most likely be ok. The 92+ ecu does not have a knock input connected.

    R8 Coil wiring

For the main power/ground I have used 18AWG tefzel, but as I said above Im only running them at 8A peak. If you are a high boost turbo you may want to go to 16AWG. If using Tefzel wire, 18AWG is good for about 9A, 16AWG about 12A. Low temp PVC insulated wire would need to be bigger.
  19. Can you post a log and your tune.

  21. To get a quick tune in it I would run it in traditional or modelled mode initially (not modelled multifuel). Then when you change injectors you will switch to multifuel mode and tune both fuels correctly.
  22. It will need to be an ignition switched +12V source.
  23. Have you installed PC Link in the default directory C:/Link G4?
  24. I dont think there currently is a correct pinout for the V1.5 bottom board. The one on the left of your pic above should actually be labeled "V1.6+". The one on the right is mostly correct except pin 11 is Ign 6, not Aux 4. There is no Aux 4 on V1.5 and pin 46 is not connected. The Cat light is not connected on any of the versions - sorry for the conflicting info I gave earlier. The reason is that some Evo8's use this cat light pin as a sensor ground, there is a jumper onboard to connect this pin to ground.

    1uz cop conversion

With Richards suggested injector pairing you would set inj mode to sequential and you would have semi-sequential injection - which would possibly give slightly better idle and transient response. With your current pairing the inj mode should be set to multipoint group with 1/2 eng cycle injection rate provided the injectors arent bigger than about 800cc. If they are bigger than that then set inj rate to 1 eng cycle instead.
