  1. Hi Rich, the previous firmware versions have had some issues with Lambda Average not reading correctly, however I'm not aware of any problems in the new 5.6.3.3229 release. If you come across the problem again can you save the 'Modelled' base-map and send to us with a PCLog of the problem occurring? Can you then switch to 'Modelled Multi-Fuel', save the base-map, record another PCLog (of it working) and send all four files to us? Cheers, Scott.
  2. Hi Andy, Not currently. My understanding is that the Ignition switch input is only used for controlling the main relay. This means that the ECU is not actually powered up when you switch the Ignition switch on. Are you looking to use the ignition switch turning off to control something? Scott
  3. Hi Llewellyn, Looking at the parameters menu with the latest Thunder base-map this now look to be implemented. This will likely come when the GP PWM and GP Output functions get added to Aux Output 17-20. Scott
  4. Hi Llewellyn, I've heard back from the engineers and they agree it is important and will get onto it. I don't have a time-frame though. Scott
  5. Hi Rat, I would take your case pieces down to a wrecker and see what you can get for cheap. I don't know, but would guess than the standard SR20DE and CA18DE cases would work. Scott.
  6. On our ECU pin E5 is permanently connected to Pin E1 (which is power ground in), and pin E4 is permanently connected to pin D2 and D3 which is ignition switched +12V. Scott

    basemap atom for evo 3

Hi Beng, The G4+ EVO 1-3 base-map can be loaded into a G4+ Atom. You will find that the higher numbered inputs and outputs will not show up when the base-map is loaded into the Atom. This is because the Atom has less inputs and outputs. However all the other settings like fuel, ignition, and trigger settings will be present. Scott
  8. The photo you put up of the actual ECU board show that it is one of out WRX V7-9 ECUs, so you should select the Subaru V7-10(JDM) trigger mode. The log file shows that the Trig 1 and Trig 2 signals are only being received intermittently. This may mean that the Trigger arming threshold table for the 0 and 1000 rpm cells need adjusting. I would try reducing them and see if that helps. When you have access to an oscilloscope you will be able to work out what the cells in both tables should be set to. Scott

    E46 DBW

Hi Dima, We have not done an S54 install ourselves, but quite a few of our ECUs have been installed onto these engines. We have controlled many other engines idle using e-throttle alone. Here are the settings for DBW on an S54 as shared to us by one of the Link dealers. Scott

    basemap atom for evo 3

Hi Beng, the G4+ PCLink comes with a base-map for the EVO 1 to 3. I used google and found the following for diagrams: http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Board=UBB2&Number=885525&page=0&fpart=1 Scott.

    4agze start map

Hi, please upload your base-map and a PCLog of the problem: Scott
  12. Hi Tony, Each ignition output on the Link ECUs will put out pulses at ~ +5V and can provide up to 20 mA of current. I think this will work fine with the Bosch coils you are looking at as the say: Scott
  13. Yes, the number of people wanting an increased amount of virtual aux channels is high and this is the reason it is likely to be implemented sooner than some other feature requests. Scott.
  14. Is the Atom installed as the only ECU, or is it installed as a piggy back ECU? Because the Atom only has 4 ignition and 4 injection outputs, but the M54 is a 6 cylinder engine I'm assuming that you are doing wasted spark ignition and multi-point group fuel. Is this correct? If yes then the only gain in using trigger two would be for VANOS control, which the Atom does not do. So you are best to set Trig 2 Sync to OFF. For Trig 1, the sensor is definitely a hall sensor? Have you tried with the pullup resistor ON and OFF? Scott
  15. The Thunder comes with 20 Aux Output channels. Currently 16 of these have the GP Output function. Aux 1 to 10 can have 3 conditions, and Aux 11 to 16 can have 2 conditions. However this is likely to change in future firmware releases and it is also quite possible there will be an increase in the number of Virtual Aux channels. Scott.
  16. Hi Nigel, you're right that it is not included. I'll follow up with the engineers and see what the status on this is. Scott.
  17. Hi Cam, I'm not aware of any rule of thumb for adjusting deadtime when adding ballast resistors. I think your alternative plan sounds sound. Others who have done this may add their comments. Your idea for the fuel table also sounds like it would work. However it may be just quicker to go to an approx mid VE point, set the table value to 50, and then adjust the master fuel value to achieve the target AFR. Scott
  18. Hi, As Simon mentioned there is a priority list for firmware changes, and the list has quite a lot on it already. Generally items move up in priority from increased demand, so other users would be needing the same changes you are asking for. If others reading this do need them add a reply so we know. In the image above - the Aux 4 settings - the 3rd condition, I put a 1, you can put a 2 or a 3 here to use Virtual Aux 2 or Virtual Aux 3. Scott.
  19. Hi, I believe that your engine is most likely to work with Subaru V7-10(JDM) trigger mode. This trigger mode should have two pulses for the Trigger 2 cam sensor. If you have access to an oscilloscope and can upload a photo of the cam and crank triggers we can confirm the correct trigger mode to use. Scott.
  20. With doing this there is a risk of engine or exhaust system damage. However I understand for some people it is about the show rather than the go, and in the end if the customer is understanding of the risks and willing to pay then it can be worth doing. Generally what you want to do is cut some ignition events, retard the rest of the ignition events, and enrich the fueling so that it burns in the exhaust system. You can do this using a combination of the Engine Protection/Limiters and also with 4D fuel and ignition tables. Scott
  21. The Modelled fuel mode is able to adjust the fueling based upon fuel temp (density temp coefficient). Here is a chart showing the inputs of the modelled fuel mode: PCLink Help > G4+ ECU Tuning Functions > Fuel > Fuel Setup > Fuel Equation mode contains more information. We have also have four videos on our youtube channel that talk about the differences in the fuel modes. They are pretty dry, but may be a better alternative than the PCLink help file. Let us know if you have more questions. Scott.

    E46 DBW

Hi, the S54 e-throttle is known to have a few issues when it comes to setup. Possibly the ECUs e-throttle drivers are struggling to fully open the throttle. How many springs are you using on it? It is common to reduce the amount of spring to three. Scott
  23. Hi Mister2, 1. We don't have a pre-set calibration for the AEM 4 channel EUGO, but others have used them with our ECUs before. 2. You can have individual cylinder fuel trim tables, and it is possible to set the lambda target on one axis, and the actual measured lambda for a particular cylinder (if physically installed this way!) on the other axis. You can then specify an amount of trim. Previously this was not possible as we only were able to receive 2 Lambda inputs over CAN, but the engineers have been hard at work and now this is possible. 3. No, CAN only uses two wires, so you can use what ever method you like of connecting the CAN devices to the CAN bus. 4. Some G4+ ECUs contain a 6 pin round communication port on the front of the ECU. This communication port contains CAN H, CAN L, RS232 Rx, RS232 Tx, and Ground. If you connect just to the CAN H and CAN L pins there is no problem to use CAN and the tuning port at the same time. If you connect to the RS232 pins then there is a problem. So yes you can use the CAN bus at the same time as using the tuning port. The G4+ Thunder has its CAN connections on the D wiring loom connector, so no communication port fitted anyway. Scott
  24. Hi powerboy, The Link G4+ Fury will accept +12v at this trigger inputs with no problems. Scott
