b3tuning reacted to mapper in Wire schematic
    Hi
To speed up wiring and diagnostic I would like to have a function that outputs a list, a schematic, and a picture of the connectors with all labels of all configured (assigned) in- and outputs. On top of that many smart things could be implemented like an auto updated complete wiring schematic in an easy understandable format(e.g MS Visio style). These things can speed up install time and wiring a lot, which sets barrier lower to switch to a standalone ECU.
    possible examples attached.

Hi Adamw-san,Thank you for your advice!
I tried the trigger settings of SUZUKI Swift ZC32S.    The measurement of engine speed with "G4+ Plugin HC96+" became stable and showing correct value!!!
This is something like "Hello (LINK) world!" for me.Thank you,

b3tuning reacted to Davidv in Over run fuel cut clarification
Instead of duty cycle have a look at the log of Injector Actual Pulsewidth
When the injector cuts you'll see a delay in the reading changing which I believe is for two reasons:
    1. The amount of gas coming past the wideband sensor under these conditions is very low so its slower to respond

    2. There is still the fuel film build up on the port walls which is coming into the cylinder, although the amount of fuel is low the amount of air is very low too when the throttle is shut.

But I see a delay in the readings here, and look how long it takes to register again once the injectors turn back on.

Yes, you should be able to find most info in the help file.  You dont need voltage vs temp, our cal tables will let you enter ohms and do the math for you.

b3tuning reacted to Davidv in Wall wetting model for accel enrichment / cold start etc.
    Hey,
I think this might have been suggested before. But once you start to understand the wall wetting concept, it starts to explain a lot of other concepts which are described seperately in the current software.
Example - accel enrichment compensates for changes in wall wetting, but in a fairly crude manner.

Cold start cranking enrichment is essentially compensating for fuel film build up over the initial cranking period on a cold engine, and the long time period of "tau" on a cold motor.

Fuel cut on decel doesnt really go into this, but if there was awareness of the fuel film depleting during this period then "accel enrichment" would naturally increase again after decel fuel cut.

It feels like if this was modelled many of the other enrichment features etc could be done away with or minimised.

Here's a great article on it.

Greetings Link, for the past year or so, i've been digging into the depths of my vehicle's CAN network for more understanding as to what information is being communicated over the canbus network(s) on the car.
The Vehicle is a 2006 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG, The ECU Transmits 8 Bus arbitration ID's, with about 8 or 9 arbitration id's offering worthwhile information back to the bus.
Currently there's a limit to 6 arbitration ID's per Bus, Will this number ever get increased to a bigger value? 24?

I realize i'm not the 99%, but the 1% hoping that M1 Dev or create my own can bridge collaborating data, (which I haven't completely crossed off the list, but i'd rather config the user definable tables offered vs c++ from scratch.
I've also obtained cancapture, which I was told was a program you possess, which may help with my troubles and understanding. TIA , Mitch

It looks to me like the DASH2Pro CAN stream sends "non-driven" wheel speed so your setup above should have worked ok.  No harm in trying what Simon suggests though and assign both driven and non driven to the same wheel.
Also check in the Dash2Pro config that the speed display is looking for "non-GPS" speed:

In the Dash2Pro CAN config, make sure the ECU speed channel is enabled and also make sure you dont have more than 15 channels enabled:

It is perfectly fine to load the plugin base map into the Monsoon.  As b3tuning says above you will just have to make sure the inputs and outputs are mapped out to suit your wiring.

It is the opposite in the case - the Monsoon is one of our low cost ECU's with restricted I/O and features.  The Xtreme has much more going on but I cant think of any major functions that arent going to transfer over fine.

Ok I see some of your problem is the launch ignition trim activation is set too close to the launch RPM so it is continuously bouncing on & off.  Try setting ignition trim activation to 6000RPM.  I think with more consistent retard you should see higher launch boost.
Also if your engine has solid lifters then I think you would get a better result by using ignition cut instead of fuel cut.  If you have hydraulic lifters it would pay to stick with fuel cut.

b3tuning reacted to JayGow in Water meth
My experience with water methanol injection.
Mine is a different engine setup, but a good example of an effective system.
For high compression boosted engines that need to run on regular pump fuel, water meth injection is definitely worth the effort in my opinion.
I am running a positive displacement supercharger pushing 15psi into a stock 4.0L inline six on pump 98 fuel, no intercooler.
I use it for both knock suppression and intercooling.
I can't say what the hp/torque difference is with water meth, as I loose so much I have never bothered to find out.
Without the water meth operating I have to halve boost, add fuel and pull close to 5 degrees of timing out, and still get knock if I try to push it. (Intake temps climb at an alarming rate too which makes it worse).
The Link ecu can be used to control the whole system, with failsafes, and allows you to be very imaginative with your setup.
I use a 3D DC table to pulse a high speed solenoid like an injector which allows me full control over when the system becomes active and how much is injected. 4D fuel and ignition maps are also enabled when the system is active.
I also have a pressure sensor hooked up to monitor system pressure and enable failsafes if there is a problem.
The pump is also switched on by the ecu and only active when required. This is much better than PWM pump control which most systems use because full pump pressure means better atomization. Recirculating bypass pumps are best.
I'm looking at upgrading my setup soon, using a fuel injector for even better control.

b3tuning reacted to MGV101 in Boost Solenoid and Tacho Output on Aux Ign 5 to 8
I'm in the process of tidying up all my wiring while the engine is out of the car.
Got sick and tired of the entangled mess of wires and splices into the stock ECU harness that I have actually printed a PCB with proper header and connectors acting as a central hub for all my external input/outputs that routes everything to my MR2Link V2-3 plug-in ECU with the XS loom through the expansion connectors.
Originally the boost solenoid and tach output were connected to the Aux output through splices in the stock ECU harness and I planned to clean things up by relocating them to my custom hub. While looking through the help files today I have noted that certain Auxiliary Output channels can only be used with certain Functions and according to the table in the help file, Aux Ign 5 to 8, being the only output available on the expansion connectors on the MR2Link, do not support boost solenoid or tacho functions.
However when I open up menu for Aux Ign 5 to 8 in the PCLink software, it does allow me to assign boost solenoid or tacho functions to those outputs. I noted the output functionality documented in the help file was based on the older 5.4.3 firmware and was wondering whether newer firmware had enabled this or the output function in PCLink is actually false and the output would actually not function properly when boost or tacho is selected.
As the engine is out, I am unable to test the outputs and is hoping that I can find an answer here so that I can do all the re-wiring work correctly.
    Thank you!

    Hi John,
I'm sorry we are a bit under the pump at the moment and difficult to reach at some times of the day.  However we do normally return calls quickly if missed.  For some reason we have lost your voice mail.
I believe Dave has been in touch with you today and informed you that it appears the main problem is trigger 1 is inverted compared to normal and has suggested you try swapping to rising edge.  The offset may be wrong too since its hard to tell if trig 2 is also upside down in this case.

b3tuning reacted to Marty in More logging memory?
I think Link has hit the sweet spot of great features at a good price point but the logging is the weak point.
IMO the onboard logging needs to have more memory and be able to do atleast 200hz
The issue with logging to pc is you are limited to 40hz.
Adding an external datalogger is an option however my preference is to use a single device and the extra cost of a logger would make it more economical to move to a more expensive ecu that has the ability to do the logging required.
The Link ecus are good, just giving some feedback on an area that will improve the product.
