  1. Your wiring is correct. Usually a narrowband setting will work better.

    Evo 8 plugin

No it should still run without changing any jumpers. The jumpers only effect the intercooler water spray and the cat converter lamp. Some odd models have the AC clutch and FP Relay pins swapped. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you first turn the ignition on? If not then try setting Ign 3 to " test (ON)" to see if the fuel pump runs.
  3. You havent changed (or havent stored) trigger 1 arming threshold table as I suggested. Here is the table in the map you just attached: Here is how I suggest you set it:
  4. Your ecu setting are fine, and the fact the trigger 1 signal in the triggerscope shows near zero volts means the trigger signal is shorted to ground somewhere. If a wire was broken, had a bad connection or the sensor was unplugged the the triggerscope would show near 5V as it is pulled-up by the ecu. S start by unplugging the crank sensor, do another triggerscope, if the triggerscope still shows 0.2-0.4V like your pic above then the short is somewhere in the engine loom. If the triggerscope shows 4-5V with the sensor unplugged then that means the short is after the plug.
  5. I dont really see any reason for it to stop in the log, the ecu still has battery voltage and it still outputting injector PW and ignition dwell when the engine stopped. So Im suspicious you have a wiring issue somewhere and either the injectors or ignition system is loosing battery voltage. The fact that it runs with key in start position also suggests this. So start by looking at power supply to those items.
  6. I just had a closer look at his account. It seems he generated the correct unlock code originally, then later the same day he went back and generated a new unlock code using the part number. So tell him since he has already generated the code, he now can retrieve it using the "search" button (see picture below) rather than the "new serial" number.
  7. Can you please try the V7-10 trigger mode like I said earlier. The EJ20 quad mode wont work because it expects 3 teeth on trigger 2.
  8. It looks like the dealer has entered the part number as well as the serial number? Nowhere does it say to enter the part number, just the serial. The serial number is 103220
  9. What are the relays connected to DI'2s for? So you can monitor if they are on or off? Well that would depend if the car is LHD or RHD. But our LH/RH terminology would refer to the drivers perspective. Its odd that you only have 2 teeth on the cam, usually the AVCS engines have 3 or 4. Im not sure if we have a trigger mode that will work with this engine. I think the V7-10 mode will get it to run with trig 2 to hall, but Im not sure if it will be happy when VVT starts to work.
  10. Chris, since you have a G4X, please do a log and attach that and a copy of your tune in the G4X forum.
  11. Your scope shows no signal at all from the crank sensor, cam sensor is working ok. Possibly the wiring is damaged near the sensor?
  12. You are hitting the rev limiter and your Lambda input is going outside of its calibrated voltage range.
  13. Like I said above you are only meant to click capture once the engine is already cranking. This comment suggests you are hitting capture before cranking?
  14. Either that sensor is failing or you have a bad connection. I suspect more likely the sensor since it seems most erratic after an edge is detected. Try swapping with the sensor on the other side.

    PDM Unit advice

Yeah, I think 8 channels is a bit tight. I have done a couple basic race cars with 12 channels but you need to plan very carefully to get by with that few and it means if you want to add something in future it becomes a ball ache. The AIM 32 channel looks like good value if you dont have a dash but since you already have the dash it is less attractive. I would avoid the XAP, I havent specifically used their PDM, but I work on a car with one of their dashes and paddle shift systems and the software is so buggy and non intuitive you will want to give up before you start, reliability hasnt been good on either of these devices either. I havent used a Maxx yet. Right now I think the ECUMaster pdu16 is probably the best combination of capability and IO for the price (Be aware you do need to buy the extra USB CAN adapter though). Also take a look at the Aussie Moristech blackboxes too, I have used the P12 and P30 (P12 doesnt have CAN), they are very good for the money - cant do PWM etc like ECU master but still quite capable. They have just released a new model P14 which looks a bit more advanced and can do PWM on two channels etc. The P12 is about USD$700 and the P14 is ~USD$900 I havent had any drama communicating with any of them yet since the Link CAN is so flexible.
  16. Are you sure it doesn’t have another sensor at the front of one of the cams? Can you do a couple more trigger scopes so we can confirm there are one two cam teeth
  17. The cam rotates at half crank speed, the cam teeth will only show up every second crank rev. Do you have 2 or 3 teeth on your cams? This almost looks like youve got the V7 trigger pattern, but with the hall sensors on the cam from the EJ25 or quad VVT engine?
  18. If you've got fuel and spark it would suggest it is happy with the trigger. What is the actual problem?
  19. Sorry, I have no idea what Dave was suggesting there. I'll see if I can get an answer from engineering on Monday what they think the issue is. As far as I know G4X should behave the same as G4+. Can you give me a bit of info about your laptop, what model, what graphics card etc.

    E36 Idle issues

Most likely the hold step too big now. Try it at 0.
  21. What does lambda 1 status and Lambda 1 error runtimes show?
  22. Not sure what you mean by "diagnostics mode", but there are many diagnostic tools, you can view all the runtimes on the tabs along the bottom panel of the screen and you can log unlimited channels with a PC connected in graphical or text format.
  23. Yes. If you are using the dash with a Link ecu it will work out of the box with the default configuration. If you are using the dash with some other ecu or with no ecu (such as carburettor) then it will still work but will need a custom CAN file set up in race studio 3.
